Summary Generated by Built In

NVIDIA has been transforming computer graphics and accelerated computing for more than 30 years. We are now reinventing graphics with AI. As graphics increasingly incorporates GPU compute and neural rendering, we are building the APIs, shading languages, and system software that bring these capabilities to developers.

We are seeking a deeply technical Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Graphics APIs and Platforms team, spanning console graphics, compute-based graphics, and Slang. You will own the team’s technical direction and delivery, advancing graphics drivers, platform software, and shading language capabilities for current and next-generation GPUs. Working with architects and platform teams across NVIDIA, you will develop exceptional engineers and turn new graphics capabilities into production-quality software.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead and develop the engineering team responsible for console graphics platforms, compute-based graphics, and Slang.
  • Own the team’s technical roadmap, priorities, quality, and delivery commitments.
  • Advance graphics APIs and shading language capabilities to support the growing role of compute and AI in graphics.
  • Drive production delivery, from hardware enablement and driver development through performance optimization, validation, and release.
  • Work with GPU architects, platform teams, and console partners to define requirements and resolve challenging hardware/software integration problems.
  • Strengthen the team through hiring, mentoring, and better engineering practices, including AI-assisted and agentic development.

What We Need to See:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ overall years of experience in graphics, GPU, or system software engineering, including 4+ years leading engineering teams.
  • Deep expertise in graphics system software, with a strong background in drivers, runtimes, or graphics API implementations.
  • Strong understanding of GPU architecture, graphics and compute pipelines, and how software interacts with hardware.
  • Strong C/C++ programming background and experience debugging complex systems across software and hardware boundaries.
  • Proven success developing engineers and leading teams that ship production-quality software.
  • Hands-on experience with agentic development workflows and sound judgment about applying them to system software engineering.
  • Clear communication, strong technical judgment, and disciplined execution across team boundaries.

Ways to Stand Out from the crowd:

  • Experience managing technical relationships with console or platform partners and leading system software delivery from requirements through integration, validation, and production release.
  • Experience leading an open source software project, including technical direction, releases, and collaboration with external contributors.
  • Deep knowledge of Vulkan, Direct3D, OpenGL, or CUDA, including driver internals and performance optimization.
  • Experience with compute-based graphics pipelines, shader compilers, Slang, or shading language design.
  • Experience with GPU bring-up, pre-silicon development, or hardware/software co-design.

With competitive salaries and a generous benefits package (www.nvidiabenefits.com ), we are widely considered to be one of the technology world’s most desirable employers. We have some of the most forward-thinking and hardworking people in the world working for us and, due to outstanding growth, our best-in-class engineering teams are rapidly growing. If you're a creative and autonomous engineer with a real passion for technology, we want to hear from you!

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and other objective job-related factors. The expected base salary range for this position is 272,000 USD – 431,250 USD.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.

Applications for this job will be accepted at least until November 3, 2026.
