Company Overview
Ambiq is on a mission to enable intelligence everywhere — powering the AI edge revolution with the world's lowest-power semiconductor solutions.
Built on our proprietary sub- and near-threshold technology, our chips deliver multi-fold improvements in energy efficiency without costly process scaling. Since 2010, we've shipped over 300 million units to customers building smarter wearables, medical devices, IoT products, and AI-powered edge applications.
Our cross-functional teams span design, research, development, production, marketing, sales, and operations across Austin, Hsinchu, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Singapore. We move fast, tackle hard problems, and create space for people to grow through complex, meaningful work that shapes the future of technology.
We're looking for self-motivated, creative problem-solvers who are eager to push technological limits and make a real impact in energy efficiency.
At Ambiq, we live by five values: Innovate. Collaborate. Focus. Learn. Achieve.
If that's you, join us — the intelligence everywhere revolution starts here.
We are seeking a motivated Senior Validation Engineer to join Ambiq's Taiwan Validation Team and help validate our next-generation ultra-low-power MCU and SoC products from first silicon through production.
In this role, you will develop and execute validation plans, perform silicon characterization, automate validation testing, and debug complex hardware and firmware issues across digital, analog, mixed-signal, and low-power subsystems. You will collaborate closely with Architecture, Design, Verification, Firmware, Product Engineering, and ATE teams to ensure high-quality silicon and successful product releases.
This position offers the opportunity to independently own major validation areas while contributing to validation automation, product quality, and continuous improvement across multiple silicon programs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute post-silicon validation plans, functional tests, and automated regression suites for MCU and SoC subsystems.
- Perform functional validation, electrical characterization, PVT testing, margin analysis, shmoo testing, and production test correlation.
- Develop embedded firmware, validation software, automation scripts, and data analysis tools to improve validation efficiency.
- Support board bring-up, laboratory testing, silicon characterization, and debug activities.
- Analyze validation failures, production issues, customer issues, and RMA investigations to identify root causes and drive resolution.
- Collaborate with Design, Verification, Firmware, Product Engineering, Applications Engineering, and ATE teams to improve validation coverage, product quality, and manufacturing readiness.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of validation methodologies, automation frameworks, and laboratory infrastructure.
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in post-silicon validation, silicon bring-up, embedded firmware, or SoC development.
- Experience validating ARM-based MCU or SoC devices, including digital, analog, mixed-signal, power management, memory, and peripheral interfaces.
- Experience developing embedded C/C++ firmware and validation automation using Python, Tcl, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, current measurement equipment, environmental chambers, and laboratory instrumentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently debug complex hardware and software issues.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across cross-functional engineering teams.
- Experience with ultra-low-power SoCs, AI-enabled edge devices, or embedded wireless systems.
- Experience with Bluetooth® Low Energy, IEEE 802.15.4 (Thread, Matter, Zigbee), or similar wireless technologies.
- Experience with production test correlation, characterization, yield improvement, and statistical data analysis.
- Experience developing validation automation frameworks, regression environments, and reusable test infrastructure.
- Experience with Linux development environments, Git, FPGA validation platforms, and hardware-assisted debug environments.
