Senior Electronics R&D Test Engineer

  • Location: Warsaw, Poland

  • Department: Optical Systems

  • Reports to: Engineering Manager, Optical Systems

  • Employment type: Permanent

  • Workplace model: Hybrid

  • Employment is subject to applicable security screening (incl. SUPO, where required)

Why this role matters:

As Senior Electronics R&D Test Engineer, you will lead electrical AIT for ICEYE's new generation of optical spacecraft, qualifying subsystems and full satellites and debugging the electronics and software issues that surface along the way. You will build and run the EGSE these campaigns depend on, and feed what you find on the test floor back into the design itself, working closely with the engineering teams responsible for it.

Who We Are

ICEYE is the world leader in sovereign intelligence from space. We deliver persistent monitoring capabilities to detect and respond to changes in any location on Earth.

ICEYE owns the world's largest and most advanced SAR (synthetic aperture radar) satellite constellation. To our customers we provide intelligence with unmatched quality, latency and revisit times, in any weather, day or night. To governments who choose to operate their own constellation we provide this proven capability as a sovereign system.

ICEYE-built constellations serve customers in defence and intelligence, environmental monitoring, insurance and emergency management. We enable fast decisions that contribute to a safer future.

Founded and headquartered in Finland, ICEYE operates globally with over 1000 employees across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.

Your day-to-day responsibilities
  • Run subsystem qualification and functional testing, and spacecraft-level system testing, for the new generation of optical satellites.

  • Debug electronics and software issues as they arise, carrying out root cause analysis on failures.

  • Design and build the Electronics Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) needed to test and integrate the new spacecraft generation.

  • Support next-generation spacecraft integration, creating the AIT procedures used to run it and transferring that knowledge to the production team.

  • Feed testing and integration findings back to the design engineering teams, from early concept through late prototyping, and drive the design changes that come out of it.

What we’re looking for

Must haves:

  • Hands-on experience in the development, integration, testing, or production of complex electronics systems

  • Strong debugging skills across both electronics and software.

  • AIT experience spanning both software and electronics.

  • Comfortable working under pressure and tight timelines, since test and integration campaigns can involve intense, demanding periods.

  • Strong communication skills in English (written & spoken).

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with environmental testing, such as thermal or vibration testing.

  • Experience in design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-testability (DFT) in high-reliability environments.
