Osaka

Kyoto

The 123-room Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto is the company’s second destination in Japan, in the city’s historic Higashiyama-ku district, close to the Kyoto National Museum and myriad heritage sites such as the Toyokuni Shrine and Kiyomizu Temple. Local artists are featured throughout the traditionally-inspired modern décor characterized by an understated Japanese aesthetic. The Hotel has a spa and fitness center with a pool, and four food and beverage concepts. There are also 57 Four Seasons Private Residences.

About the role

Responsible for the overall management of the Reservations Department and Revenue Management activities of both Osaka and Kyoto properties to achieve budgeted goals. Understanding and applying the principles of occupancy and rate to achieve maximum yield.

Based in either Osaka property or Kyoto property with regular trip between 2 properties.

What you will do

  • Control rooms and rate availability in accordance with established guidelines to maximize occupancy and revenue.

  • Coordinate group inventory and allocations with the Director of Sales and/or Commercial Director, develop and implement policies and procedures pertaining to the revenue management of reservations function.

  • Operate and manage a Property Management.

  • Produce / Analyze the following reports and recommend/implement appropriate action to maximize revenue:  Daily/Weekly Occupancy and revenue Forecasts, Monthly Market Segment Forecast, Booking Pace by Segment, Red Date Analysis, Rooms Inventory Report with Group Displacement, Arrival/Departure Patterns, Phaser Report, RateView Reports, Rate Resistance/Turnaway Report, Suite Inventory Forecast, Month End Suite Analysis, Booking Source Analysis, Pivot Table Reports, Data Mining.

  • Produce and publish a monthly analysis/report summarizing the month end reservations activity.

  • Establish and/or manage the following:  Published, Package and Negotiated Rate Strategy Tiers, Segment Ceilings based on historical and current demand, incentive plans/program for Reservations agents and managers, Rate/Yield Strategy Worksheet, Rate/Yield Strategy within PMS, Front Desk Upsell program, Front Desk Perfect Fill Program.

  • Maintain favorable working relationships among employees to promote maximum morale, productivity and efficiency

  • Develop and mentor the Revenue Analyst and Revenue Supervisor in the team.

  • Display a high level of integrity and professionalism at all times in all dealing with guests and employees.

  • Participate/Conduct/Attend scheduled departmental and Administrative meetings as requested; Yield, Forecast, Department, Pre-Con’s, Board of Operations, Sales and Marketing and Annual Revenue Management Conferences.

  • Respond according to the crisis management plan to any resort emergency or safety situation.

  • Comply with Four Seasons standards for sales and marketing, while working harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and planning committee.

  • Assist with all guest inquiries within the sales and marketing department, including assisting with high telephone volume and walk-in site inspections.

  • Assist in the creation of the annual Marketing Plan and Annual Budget

  • Coordinate Worldwide Reservation Office visits and special activities.

  • Establish relationships with Reservations Managers in the city as well as in Four Seasons, as well identify potential candidates for future recruitment.

  • Perform added tasks or projects as assigned by the Commercial Director.

What you bring

Education: College education or equivalent required

Experience: Three years’ experience in a similar role or single property Revenue Manager capacity with Four Seasons or another related organization

Skills and Abilities: Comprehensive computer and analytical skills

                                   Superior guest service and salesmanship skills

                                   Revenue/Yield Management skills and experience

                                   Proven success as a previous Reservations Manager required, ability to manage multi tasks and improve efficiency and productivity.
