Job Summary

As the senior director of IDI underwriting you will develop, direct, and execute the strategic direction for the IDI fully underwritten (FUW) team to drive the profitable growth of IDI in partnership with IDI sales.

  • Develop strategy for profitable FUW growth in partnership with business leaders, setting servicing standards to meet business, product, and customer needs. 

  • Serves as an internal consultant to management, distribution partners and external contacts, communicating alternative risk ideas, influencing decisions and the development of new strategies, and serving as a key resource to the division.

  • Partner with other management personnel in projects and planning, either as a lead or in a supporting role. 

  • Develop, performance manage, and retain employees and leaders on assigned teams, creating an inclusive team environment, and promoting effective team problem solving.

  • Lead and/or facilitate team members in assessing customer needs to properly identify and implement customer-focused improvements in workflow, systems, and procedures. 

  • Promote the adoption of Lean principles to identify risk and implement key performance improvement metrics.

Skills and Background You’ll Need

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is required. An MBA is highly preferred.

  • Five (5) years of experience as a leader of leaders in underwriting and operations is required.

  • Ten (10) years of experience working in underwriting and operations is required.

  • Experience working in benefits, product management, finance is preferred.

  • Five (5) years of experience collaborating with a sales dept., working together to reach balance and meet organizational goals.

Please note - the salary range for this role is listed below. In addition to salary, our package includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits, as well as an initial PTO accrual of 164 hours per year. Employees also receive 11 paid holidays and 2 wellness days per year.

 

  • Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.

Salary Range:

$124,250.00 - $198,500.00
