Responsible for strategic direction and management of the engineering staff for the development and support of software for Spectrum's advanced WiFi for the the Advanced WiFi routers and the cloud-based management platforms. Create, implement and enhance consistent engineering practices to ensure stable product delivery consistent with company initiatives and expectations. Direct project planning, capital budgeting and business plan development. Ensure a high degree of cross-functional communication in line with product deployment and support.

As a SENIOR DIRECTOR, ENGINEERING you'll be responsible for strategic direction and management of the engineering staff for the development and support of software for Spectrum's advanced WiFi for the the Advanced WiFi routers and the cloud-based management platforms. Create, implement and enhance consistent engineering practices to ensure stable product delivery consistent with company initiatives and expectations. Direct project planning, capital budgeting and business plan development. Ensure a high degree of cross-functional communication in line with product deployment and support.

  • Directs quality control programs for engineering operations and consistent operational procedures.
  • Directs capital budget process, executes approved budget plan.
  • Leads and participates in succession planning.
  • Performs other duties as requested by Manager.


WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • 9 years of management experience
    • 12 years of engineering and/or network operations experience
    • 5 years of project management experience
  • Education:
    • Master's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Skills:
    • Advanced Knowledge of HFC, Advanced Video, IP Networks, and Telephony
    • Knowledge of all FCC compliance reports and other rules and regulations
    • Comprehensive understanding of applicable local and state rules and regulations
    • Comprehensive understanding of OSHA rules and regulations, both federal and state
    • Comprehensive understanding of HVAC and power distribution systems
    • Advanced knowledge of Analog Transmission Line Theory
    • Advanced knowledge of Electronic theory
    • Advanced knowledge of Fiber Optic theory
    • Knowledge of National Electric Code and National Electric Safety Code
    • Effective leadership skills

  • Abilities:
    • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
    • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of wireless networking including WiFi and 5G networks.
  • Advanced knowledge of modern programming languages such as JAVA, Python, C++, and C.
  • Advanced knowledge of object-oriented programming.
  • Advanced knowledge of continuous integration and continuous development (CI/CD).

The base pay for this position generally is between
$155,600.00 and $275,800.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
