The Senior Director (SrD), Corporate Physical Security (CPS) position will lead the critical incident response program, to include management and training of Enterprise and Regional Critical Incident Response Team members. It will also lead efforts to reduce Workplace Violence incidents, including education and reporting requirements. The position will require knowledge and leadership of the Emergency Communications Systems, as well as all aspects of tactical and strategic management of physical security programs. The position will manage an Executive Support Program. The position will report to the Senior Vice President of Corporate Physical Security and will require up to 40% travel.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

  • Responsible for Charter Communications regional leadership for all physical security operations.
  • Directs planning for security operations and activities throughout the Region, including physical security, incident management, executive protection, threat assessments/mitigation, cybersecurity risk identification/support, and awareness programs.
  • Develops senior strategic relationships and acts as liaison between Charter Communications and law enforcement agencies, emergency management agencies and leadership at Federal, state and local levels.
  • Develops and implements a proactive, predictive risk strategy combining early identification of significant security risks in the region with a proactive mitigation and ongoing surveillance program.
  • Acts as a leader in all workplace violence responses, with a specific focus on awareness, education and training for the workforce.
  • Directly accountable for meeting financial and operating objectives of security projects and operations within the Region.
  • Cultivates skilled security leaders within the Region by assigning responsibility, managing accountability and providing opportunities for growth.
  • Performs other duties as requested.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Advanced effective communication skills and a high level of executive presence
  • Comprehensive understanding of the criminal justice system to include federal, state and local criminal statutes and the candidate must have extensive experience managing complex investigations
  • Comprehensive understanding of incident reporting and case management
  • Extensive experience with progressive security risk management processes and techniques related to physical security, investigations, threat assessment and mitigation
  • Understanding of the complexities of software and networking; how the systems work together
  • Ability to effectively manage large complex projects
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks simultaneously to completion
  • Ability to read and write in English and use mathematic skills accurately to complete daily paperwork Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Knowledge and experience with evidence handling and case building for prosecution
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications
  • Experience and/or training in interview/interrogation techniques


Required Education
Bachelor's degree in area relevant to the security field
Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years
Combined experience managing personnel and process in the military, local law enforcement or corporate security environments - 15
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Federal, state or local regulations relevant to the company and data privacy affecting telecommunication service (i.e., PCI, CPNI, SOX, HIPAA)
  • Knowledge of the Telecommunications industry
  • Working knowledge of incident management system
  • Working knowledge of physical security equipment
  • Working knowledge of enterprise security risk management
  • Working knowledge of Charter Communication's access control system and video management system
  • Working knowledge of Charter Communication's incident management system

Master's degree preferred
Certification in related security fields (CPP, PCI, PSP, CFE, CFI)
