As a member of the Ryan Application Development Team, this position will be a critical contributor to an ambitious strategic initiative with the goal of re-envisioning a broad suite of enterprise level applications. Aiming to create simple and compelling developer and client experiences, the Senior DevOps Engineer will be required to design, maintain, and manage infrastructure configuration with the goal of achieving a continuous deployable system while maintaining an exceptional level of service delivery for all our clients. We are looking for someone that will grow the DevOps practice by building scalable and efficient cloud infrastructure with built-in monitoring for automated system health checks. Candidates will be required to interface directly with technical leads, software architects, other business groups, and key stakeholders demanding exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:
- Work with TPO Development team to create and implement solutions on the Cloudera platform based on provided requirements.
- Work closely with Cloudera’s teams at all levels to help ensure TPO’s needs are met.
- Analyze complex distributed production deployments and make recommendations to optimize performance.
- Help design and implement Big Data architectures and configurations.
- Write and produce technical and supporting documentation, knowledge base articles.
Desired Skills:
- Experience working with Cloudera Data Platform (CDP).
- Good understanding of AWS.
- Containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes.
- Experience designing and deploying production large-scale Hadoop solutions.
- Ability to understand and translate customer requirements into technical requirements.
- Experience designing data queries in a Hadoop environment using tools such as Apache Hive, Apache Phoenix, Apache Spark or others.
- Experience installing and administering multi-node Hadoop clusters.
- Strong experience implementing solutions in an Enterprise Linux or Unix environment.
- Good understanding of network configuration, devices, protocols, speeds and optimizations.
- Knowledge of programming and scripting languages.
- Strong understanding with using network-based APIs, preferably REST/JSON or XML/SOAP.
- Experience implementing big data use-cases, understanding of standard design patterns commonly used in Hadoop-based deployments.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent related work experience. Six or more years of practical applications development experience in a DevOps or System Engineer capacity.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid driver’s license required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
- Standard indoor working environment.
- Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer.
- Position requires regular interaction with employees at all levels of the firm as well as interaction with external vendors and clients as necessary.

Compensation:
- For certain California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $136,500 - $161,500
- For other California-based locations, the base salary hiring range for this position is $125,500 - $148,500
- For Colorado-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $120,000 - $142,000
- For New York-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $136,500 - $161,500
- For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $125,500 - $148,500
