This is a hybrid position that includes working from our Times Square office at least three days per week.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is the philanthropic heart of Broadway, bringing together the theater community and its audiences to help people across the country receive lifesaving medications, healthcare, nutritious meals, counseling and emergency financial assistance.

Job Summary:

Broadway Cares seeks a highly creative and detail-oriented senior designer to help shape and elevate the organization's visual identity across print, digital and email. Reporting to the art director, you will play a key role in developing and executing impactful creative solutions that inspire audiences, engage donors, and support fundraising initiatives. You are a strong conceptual thinker with exceptional design skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Design and produce high-quality key art and creative assets across print, digital, social media, email, merchandise and event collateral

  • Develop visual concepts and campaign materials for Broadway Cares events, and fundraising campaigns

  • Ensure all creative work aligns with Broadway Cares brand standards while exploring innovative design solutions

  • Collaborate with internal teams to translate strategic goals into compelling visual communications

  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining exceptional quality standards

  • Prepare production-ready files and work closely with printers and vendors

  • Maintain organized project files on internal server and in asset libraries, such as Hightail and Dropbox

  • Participate in creative brainstorming sessions and campaign development

  • Support photo shoots, video productions, and event-related creative needs

The responsibilities listed above are not exhaustive and may evolve as the role develops. The individual in this position will also be expected to take on additional ad hoc tasks, responsibilities, and projects as assigned by the manager, adapting to the dynamic needs of the team and organization.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or equivalent professional experience

  • 5+ years of professional graphic design experience, preferably within nonprofit, arts, entertainment, theater or live event environments

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including:

    • InDesign

    • Photoshop

    • Illustrator

  • Strong typography, layout, branding, key art, and production skills

  • Experience designing for both print and digital platforms

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Experience with motion graphics and basic video editing

  • Knowledge of email marketing and digital fundraising campaigns

  • Experience designing merchandise and event-related graphics

  • Passion for theater, live entertainment and nonprofit work

  • An affection for dogs

Compensation:

$75,000-$85,000

The salary range reflects the experience and responsibilities outlined in this job description. We welcome candidates with a range of backgrounds and experience levels. If we determine that a candidate is better suited to a different level of the role, we’ll discuss adjustments during the interview process.
