Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Participate in functional test planning and testing for the assigned application(s), functional area(s) or project(s)
- Participate in problem solving and troubleshooting for the assigned application(s), functional area(s) or project(s)
- Share knowledge by effectively documenting work
- Respond quickly and effectively to production issues and taking responsibility for seeing those issues through resolution.
- Resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.
- Install and maintain database software.
- Manage backup and recovery of databases using RMAN and/or Network Appliance Snapshots.
- Manage security of database structures and corporate data held within databases.
- Develop database procedures, triggers and SQL scripts for development teams.
- Assist in the definition and implementation of database standards.
- Review scripts submitted by the Development team to ensure that all standards are met.
- Monitor databases for errors and perform problem determination when necessary.
- Design and implement highly available production systems using the following technologies: Active Data Guard, Oracle Goldengate, Advanced Queuing, Real Application Cluster (RAC) and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
- Develop Ansible playbooks to provision and manage Database infrastructure.
- Participate in on-call rotations
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (i.e. Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, etc.) and 4 years' experience in database administration.
- The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 2 years' experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 8 years' experience in a related field
- Extensive experience in Oracle database technologies, including PL/SQL Development writing triggers and/or procedures and experience with Database SQL Tuning.
- Experience with setting up and maintaining data replication using Oracle GoldenGate required.
- Experience supporting Database infrastructure in AWS required.
- Experience working independently on database administration tasks as well as collaborating within a team environment
- Experience with Linux operating systems and shell scripting.
- Experience configuring database network connectivity and performing database backup/recovery using RMAN and Network Appliance filers.
- Experience supporting high-volume websites utilizing multi-tier architectures.
- Hand on experience using Oracle Real Application Clusters(RAC) and implementation best-practices.
- Experience analyzing existing systems and recommending technologies for high availability, disaster recovery, or high performance, as demonstrated by participation in relevant projects or implementations.
Preferred:
- 10+ Years' of experience in Oracle database technologies
- Experience Supporting MySQL/PostgreSQL preferred.
- Experience developing ansible playbooks preferred.
- Experience supporting Amazon RDS, EC2, S3, VPC, Subnets infrastructure in AWS preferred.
- Experience setting up and Managing OEM 13c preferred.
USD 99,000.00 - 165,000.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $99,000.00 - $165,000.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
