Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SQL Server DBA with minimum 8 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, migration, and upgrade processes, along with expertise in T-SQL and PowerShell scripting. This role requires a proactive team player who is flexible with weekend on-call rotations and adaptable to flexible shifts during weekdays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Administration: Manage and maintain SQL Server databases, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Database Migration and Upgrade: Execute database migration and upgrade projects with minimal downtime.
  • T-SQL and PowerShell Scripting: Develop and optimize T-SQL queries and PowerShell scripts for automation and maintenance tasks.
  • Performance Tuning: Analyse and optimize database performance, including query tuning and index management.
  • Cloud Technologies: Utilize cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) for database management and deployment.
  • Monitoring and Backup Tools: Implement and manage monitoring tools like SolarWinds and SentryOne, and backup solutions such as Cohesity.
  • On-Call Rotation: Participate in weekend on-call rotations and flexible shifts during weekdays to ensure 24/7 database support.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively within a team environment, contributing to team goals and knowledge sharing.
  • Ticketing Tools: Experience with ticketing tools like ServiceNow is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Other DBMS: exposure to Linux and Linux based database technologies a plus

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in SQL Server database administration.
  • Hands-on experience with database migration and upgrade projects.
  • Expertise in T-SQL and PowerShell scripting.
  • Strong skills in performance tuning and optimization.
  • Good knowledge of cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, etc.).
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (SolarWinds, SentryOne) and backup tools (Cohesity).
  • Flexibility for weekend on-call rotation and adaptable shifts during weekdays.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Experience with ticketing tools like ServiceNow is a plus.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in DBA and cloud technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, AWS Certified Database - Specialty).
  • Work Model: Open to a hybrid work model, combining remote and in-office work
