Senior Data Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer.

Target total compensation ranges from $291,000 - $325,000, including a fixed annual salary of $200,000 - $225,000, an employee equity plan grant, and world-class benefits. 

Equity grants are issued in good faith, subject to company policies, board approval, and individual eligibility.

As a Data Engineer on our Audiences Team, you are someone who has significant expertise in processing large quantities of data. You will work with our engineering and product teams to design, build, and productionize data pipelines that drive Rokt’s business.

About the role: 

You’ll be embedded into a team of Machine Learning engineers working to develop multiple customer understanding models. You will be responsible for owning the health of our marketplace and driving its growth, including:

• Assisting the team on feature engineering tasks and ML training pipeline optimizations.
• Utilizing tools such as Spark, Python, SQL, Trino, Athena, S3, Flink, Kafka, and distributed computing platforms to process and analyze large-scale datasets.
• Managing and processing large volumes of data, ensuring efficient handling and transformation for analysis and reporting purposes.
• Lead and support batch job execution and monitoring, optimizing job scheduling and processing time to meet business needs 
• Collaborate cross-functionally with data engineering and data science teams to design and implement data pipelines that support machine learning applications and automated data processes.
• Expertise in cloud-based data services and platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) for scalable data storage, processing, and machine learning model deployment.

Requirements

About you:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience. 
• 3+ years of Experience as a data engineer
• Proven Experience with Spark (PySpark), SQL, Python, AWS; experience with other relevant tools and languages is fine
• Strong understanding of distributed data processing concepts and experience troubleshooting latency issues on batch jobs (join optimization, partitioning, hashing, caching).
• Ability to work in fast-paced teams
• Constantly looking for new ways to improve and accelerate a function
