About the role.
McCain is on an ambitious digital transformation journey, investing in data platforms, analytics, and technology to drive business growth and enhance customer experience. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in building scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that power analytics and machine learning initiatives. This role partners closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.
What you'll be doing.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines across multiple data sources
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and availability for analytics and business use cases
- Collaborate with data architects to develop and optimize data models and storage solutions
- Partner with data scientists and analysts to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Monitor and optimize performance of data systems to support scalability and future growth
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data engineers
- Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance data engineering capabilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data systems and processes
What you'll need to be successful.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5-7+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
- Experience with data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark or Hadoop
- Strong knowledge of relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Familiarity with ETL tools, data warehousing, and orchestration frameworks (e.g., Airflow)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Preferred: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerization technologies
- Preferred: Prior leadership or mentorship experience in data engineering projects
- Preferred: Relevant cloud or data engineering certifications

You will be part of the Data, AI and Analytics function within McCain's Digital Technology team, working in a highly collaborative environment alongside data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders. The team focuses on building enterprise data capabilities that support global transformation initiatives and enable data-driven innovation across the organization.

Compensation Package : $69,700.00 - $93,000.00 . CAD annually + Bonus Eligibility
