Key Responsibilities:
- Market Analysis & Strategy Leadership: Conduct in-depth analysis of cryptocurrency markets and take the lead in developing and implementing sophisticated trading strategies aligned with the company's overall objectives.
- Departmental Vision & Development: Define the vision and strategic direction for the cryptocurrency trading department, including its structure, technology requirements, and talent acquisition needs.
- Team Building & Mentorship: As the department grows, take responsibility for recruiting, training, and mentoring junior trading analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Risk Management Framework: Establish and oversee a robust risk management framework for all cryptocurrency trading activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Trading Infrastructure & Technology: Evaluate and recommend the necessary trading platforms, tools, and technologies to optimize trading efficiency and performance.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and analyze trading performance across the department, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to maximize profitability.
- Research & Innovation: Stay at the forefront of developments in the cryptocurrency space, including emerging technologies, DeFi protocols, and regulatory changes, and translate these insights into strategic advantages.
- Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate trading strategies, performance results, and market insights to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Trade Execution Oversight: Oversee the efficient and accurate execution of trades across various cryptocurrency exchanges and platforms.
- Compliance & Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all trading activities comply with relevant Maltese regulations and internal compliance policies.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- A solid history of successful trading and leadership roles.
- A thorough and insightful understanding of blockchain technology, different cryptocurrencies, and their core principles.
- Strong expertise in technical analysis, fundamental analysis, and on-chain analytics.
- A proven track record in creating, implementing, and overseeing a variety of successful trading strategies.
- A keen grasp of advanced risk management concepts, along with the ability to establish effective risk controls.
- Experience in assessing and adopting trading platforms and technologies.
- Excellent quantitative, analytical, and strategic thinking abilities, with a knack for turning complex information into clear action plans.
- Strong leadership skills, including the experience or potential to build, mentor, and inspire teams.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, enabling you to connect effectively with everyone across the organization.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
