Role summary:
For our Ettlingen site we are looking for a Senior Cost Accountant (M/F/T) at the earliest possible start date. In this role you will be responsible for the site's product cost and order accounting, as well as the optimization of related costing processes in cooperation with the operational departments. You will also support the accounting and reporting according to the US-GAAP standard, the German commercial law (HGB) and other statutory regulations. The position reports to the Accounting & Controls Valves Manager for Germany.
Your tasks:
- Review and analysis of manufacturing and sales order advancements based on cost and hourly accounts
- Analysis, comparison and reporting of order margins, material utilization and manufacturing time against plans/forecasts
- Review of cost accounting master data (material prices, standard costs, hourly rates)
- Determination of manufacturing costs, POC turnover and inventory valuation
- Determination and review of sales or manufacturing valuation adjustments (penalties, warranty costs, inventory write-downs)
- Cooperation with external auditors and Internal Audit, preparation of all audit-relevant documents
- Preparation of monthly financial statements according to the US-GAAP standard and the German commercial law (HGB)
- Implementation of cost accounting relevant SOX controls
- Determination and accounting of/for excess coverage and deficit in the manufacturing process, analyzing unclarified deviations
- Development of process improvements regarding all aspects of manufacturing cost accounting and related reporting
- Review and maintenance of parameter and spreadsheet settings in SAP
- Ensuring compliance with Flowserve guidelines for the assigned scope
Your profile:
- 3 years of experience in cost accounting
- Successfully completed vocational training as a Cost Accountant
- Confident knowledge of manufacturing processes and material flows as well as related order accounting systems and processes
- Reporting and accounting experience with the US-GAAP standard and the German commercial law (HGB) is desirable
- Advanced MS Excel knowledge
- Experienced in working with the ERP system of SAP R3
- Confident written and spoken German knowledge
- Good written and spoken English knowledge
- Analytical mindset, high affinity for working with numbers and willingness to carry out detailed-oriented tasks
- Ability to solve complex accounting issues
- Ability and willingness to collaborate and represent the accounting department in interdisciplinary teams and projects
