Main Purpose:
Responsible for overseeing the support of IN&VAS platforms within MTN Uganda (IN/Charging, Ericsson CIS, USSD/SMS vas cloud, Device management). Responsible for the creation and execution of the continuous service improvement program and performance management across these platforms.

Job Title: Senior Consultant – IN VAS Operations
Reports to: Senior Manager – Application Operations

Main Job Functions:
Oversee the operations for several Class-A systems under IN&VAS namely: IN/Charging System, Ericsson CIS, Messaging (USSD and SMS), Device management, CRBT.
Ensure INVAS systems operations KPI-s meet MTN business requirement – availability, reliability, customer complaint resolution
Ensure resilience and redundancy within the IN/VAS core network architecture is working as per design and well tested
Efficient and strong vendor management across IN/VAS platform vendors, including efficient managed service operations model
Proactive real-time outside-in monitoring tools and process for all key revenue impacting platforms
Manage, lead, and grow IN/VAS operations team to provide 24X7 operations and support for IN/VAS systems; this includes both internal MTN staff and vendor managed service staff/interface
Manage, develop, and grow an efficient and functional team of application operations engineers
To ensure IN&VAS systems operations KPI-s meet MTN business requirement – availability, reliability, customer complaint resolution.
Education
First degree in preferably Electrical Engineering, Telecom Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
Master’s degree in a relevant discipline will be an added advantage.
Work Experience
Minimum 7 years' experience in the area of specialization
Experience managing a team of application operations staff
Strong vendor management and follow up skills
Experience in UNIX shell scripting/programming and database administration
Experience in IN/VAS operations in medium or large telco
