Overview of the job
The GBS OSS One Digital Warehousing Team is leading the transformation of P&G's Supply Chain through the introduction of PrIME Warehouse Management Solutions, Affordable Machine Automation, and Supply Chain Synchronization solutions. These solutions digitize and transform P&G Warehouse Operations by applying industry best practices, systems, and work processes to deliver breakthrough productivity improvements.
As Senior Configuration Engineer - BY WMS (PrIME) - PrIME COE) you will be responsible for designing and developing the next generation PrIME configuration standards support of the PrIME Expansion and Upgrade Masterplan whilst evolving our legacy 2014 configuration standards for projects & live sites alike.
As Software Manager for Blue Yonder (BY) classic Warehouse Management System (WMS) RTCIS, you will ensure that the application continues supporting P&G's Critical Business Process Warehousing and meets all business requirements from Legal / Quality Assurance, Security / Stewardship, and Technology Obsolescence perspectives, until the transition to BY strategic WMS PrIME has been fully completed.
Your team
This role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including IT, business owners, third-party vendors, and strategic project teams to deliver warehouse management solutions aligned with P&G’s supply chain transformation objectives.
How success looks like
- Effective co-ownership of the PrIME solution architecture, lifecycle, and roadmap.
- Timely delivery of development, security, quality assurance (including automated testing), and release milestones.
- Maintaining compliance with stewardship requirements through successful audits, penetration tests, IT policy adherence, and vulnerability management.
- Smooth transition and support for strategic projects such as BY WMS PrIME migration and SAP upgrades.
- Proactive identification, communication, and mitigation of technical risks across organizational units.
- Strong vendor management and collaboration that drive quality and performance.
Responsibilities of the role
- Design & develop new PrIME configuration standards & return to standard opportunities
- Design & develop a holistic configuration migration strategy in close collaboration with our WMS vendor BlueYonder.
- Identify optimization opportunities for a resilient, state of the art WMS platform.
- Train Solution Experts on revised configuration standards & techniques
- Develop tools for configuration automation & configuration audits
- Develop PrIME configuration documentation & deployment package
Job Qualifications
Hard Skills:
BlueYonder (JDA) WMS Mastery - Experience implementing JDA Warehouse solutions at complex, highly automated warehouses.
- Ability to assess business requirements and configure the application accordingly, in line with global template standards.
- Proven ability to assess root cause of defects and set direction on remediation: software issue, work process change etc.
- Proven ability in BY upgrades or version 2018 & above.
Technical Mastery - Experience building understanding of new applications, installing / configuring / testing them and documenting them for repeatable / standard implementation. Proven ability to be hands on and go deep to uncover the capability within complex applications, then to simplify solutions for broader consumption.
Business Process Mastery & Transformation: in depth understanding of WMS processes for distribution centers & plants to enable business transformation & PrIME standardization opportunities
Project Management – Proven ability to execute complex, multi-partner / multi-stakeholder projects including clear communication of status to relevant parties.
Innovation Mindset – Ability to assess business operations and identify opportunities, then drive business case
development and proof of concept. Candidate must be comfortable in talking new concepts with P&G business
partners and in driving external partners to deliver best value solutions.
Documentation – Understanding of the importance of high quality documentation and willingness to complement hands on with robust documentation.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication skills to engage multiple stakeholders regarding technical opportunities and risks.
- Proactive problem solver with ability to coordinate between technical and business teams.
- Collaborative leadership style focused on vendor and team alignment.
