WHY BOX NEEDS YOU 

We are seeking a Senior Compensation Analyst to join our People Operations, Intelligence, and Total Rewards (POINTR) team. In this key role reporting to the Global Compensation & People Analytics Director, you will serve as the primary analytical engine for the compensation team while driving core projects across annual compensation cycles and POINTR initiatives. You will lead complex financial modeling, manage program execution, leverage modern AI tools to optimize workflows and deliver data-backed insights to support Box’s continued growth.

WHAT YOU'LL DO 

  • Conduct annual and ad-hoc market pricing to evaluate and maintain global salary bands, equity ranges, geographic pay differentials, and total cash target compensation.

  • Model equity burn rates, dilution, overhang, and run-rate projections in collaboration with Finance/Accounting and Legal.

  • Perform statistical and ad-hoc quantitative analyses to forecast costs, model compensation scenarios, and deliver data-backed recommendations to leadership and People Partners.

  • Design executive-level dashboards and reporting tools to translate raw compensation data into clear, actionable business insights.

  • Ensure compliance with global and local pay transparency legislation, reporting standards (e.g., EU Pay Transparency Directive, state-level US wage transparency laws), and audit requirements.

  • Assist with compensation planning tool setup by running test scenarios, verifying calculation formulas, and validating budget allocation rules.

  • Clean employee data, audit eligibility, and assist with compensation system testing and rule validation ahead of launch.

  • Provide ongoing support during compensation planning cycles to People Partners and other key stakeholders.

  • Conduct final data integrity checks, generate compensation statements, and prepare files to finalize cycle

  • Leverage Excel and permitted AI tools to streamline modeling workflows, troubleshoot complex formulas, and accelerate analytical insights in compliance with data privacy policies.

  • Partner closely with People Partners, Recruiting, Stock Administration, and Finance to streamline cross-functional workflows and governance.

  • Utilize AI to draft and refine clear compensation communications, manager training resources, and self-service enablement guides.

  • Continuously identify opportunities to integrate AI and automated workflows into team processes to increase efficiency, scalability, and to solve real business questions.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, HR, Business, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 4–5 years of strong analytical experience building complex financial, statistical, or compensation models in Excel.

  • Familiarity with and enthusiasm for leveraging leading AI models and prompt engineering to enhance productivity, data analysis, and documentation where data policies permit.

  • Solid understanding of compensation mechanics (broad-based pay, incentive structures, and equity compensation).

  • Proficiency with Workday and compensation benchmarking/survey tools (e.g., Radford, Pave, Syndio, or similar).

  • Analytical thinker who combines data-driven rigor with organizational context to create actionable insights.
  • Innovative problem-solver eager to embrace AI tools and technology to eliminate manual work and scale impact.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines with high-quality execution.
  • Strong communicator capable of conveying complex quantitative findings and project updates with clarity and ease.
  • Team-first attitude.
