Overview

At Microsoft, our mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. That mission drives everything we do—including how we communicate. On the Microsoft Communications team, you’ll be part of a dynamic group of storytellers who bring to life the innovations, people, and impact that define Microsoft.

Azure sits at the center of the AI era. The Azure Communications team doesn’t just communicate product news—we shape how the world understands the platform powering the AI era, connecting Microsoft’s innovation across silicon, systems, data, and cloud into one trusted story. Our ambition is to define and lead Azure as the integrated AI platform—silicon to agent—and the most trusted, comprehensive cloud for the AI era. It’s a fast-moving, high-visibility space, and we’re growing our team to meet the moment.

About the Role as the Senior Communications Manager

This is a new individual contributor role focused on telling the story of the accelerated systems that power AI, from silicon to server to software. You’ll also manage inbound media inquiries across Azure so we’re looking for someone who can move quickly between planful, proactive storytelling and fast-turn media response across the full Azure portfolio. If you love a mix of strategy and hands-on execution, thrive on collaboration, and can translate complex, technical breakthroughs into clear, human-centered stories, this is your chance to make an outsized impact.

Who You Are

  • A media-savvy professional who knows how to shape narratives and land them with the right audiences.

  • Passion for process and drive for creativity.

Responsibilities
  • Support communications and storytelling with Microsoft’s silicon and hardware partners—showcasing the accelerated systems, from silicon to server to software, that power the AI era—and connect that work to the broader brand narrative across media, analyst, and industry audiences.

  • Manage inbound media inquiries across Azure flexing across topics and responding quickly as news breaks.

  • Support spokespeople with media prep, executive messaging, and high-profile speaking opportunities.

  • Create social and influencer engagement plans that build momentum around major product and partnership moments.

  • Create and maintain compelling content to support ongoing storytelling efforts with customers and partners.

  • Collaborate with the broader communications team at Microsoft to support cross-company events and news beats.

  • Help protect the Microsoft brand by identifying and mitigating reputation risk on an ongoing basis.

  • Embody our Culture and Values.
