The Role

MX is a fintech company on a mission to empower the world to be financially strong. We build technology that helps banks, credit unions, and fintechs deliver smarter, more intuitive financial experiences to millions of people.

Like many startups, we’ve navigated real growth challenges — and we’ve come out stronger on the other side. Today, MX is in a phase of renewed momentum and scale, with a solid foundation and a clear vision for what’s next. This is a place where thoughtful execution matters, innovation is encouraged, and individuals have real ownership over their work.

Our culture values curiosity, accountability, and impact. We give people the space to question assumptions, design better solutions, and help shape how the company grows. If you’re looking to do meaningful work, influence outcomes, and grow alongside a company that’s ready to move fast, you’ll feel at home at MX.

At MX, we’re on a mission to empower the world to be financially strong. We power the financial experiences behind thousands of banks, credit unions, and fintechs, helping millions of people better understand, manage, and improve their financial lives. Our platform sits at the intersection of financial data, cloud-scale infrastructure, and trust, and it has to work, every time, at massive scale.

We’re entering a pivotal phase of our technology evolution: moving from legacy on-prem infrastructure to a modern, cloud-native AWS platform designed for resilience, security, and developer velocity. It’s a chance to build the next generation of MX’s platform thoughtfully, reliably, and with long-term impact in mind.

If you thrive in complex systems, care deeply about uptime and reliability, and want your work to directly power the financial well-being of millions, this is where you’ll do the most meaningful work of your career.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive Cloud Migration: Drive the end-to-end migration of production workloads from on-premise data centers to AWS.

  • Architect for Reliability: Design and implement production-grade Kubernetes environments and AWS architectures that prioritize 99.99+% availability.

  • Operational Excellence: Improve incident triage and Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR) by implementing cloud-aware diagnostics and automated recovery patterns.

  • Empower Developers: Reduce friction in the development lifecycle by optimizing platform response times and ensuring reliable, repeatable deployment events.

  • Platform Standards, Security, and Governance: Embed security and compliance controls directly into platform abstractions (policy-as-code, identity, networking) and partner with security and compliance teams to meet regulatory requirements by design.

  • Mentor and Standardize: Build patterns and shared tooling that allow the broader engineering teams to operate confidently in the cloud without external reliance.
