Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to design, harden and evolve SCOR's Engineering Platform. In this role, you will own complex reusable Azure blueprints, infrastructure modules and GitLab delivery patterns consumed by multiple application teams, integrating security, observability and operational controls by default. You will guide technical decisions with Architecture, Security and Operations, resolve difficult onboarding and production issues, and coach engineers contributing to shared platform assets. The target profile is approximately seven or more years of relevant experience, with demonstrated ownership of shared production capabilities.
Key duties and responsibilities
• Build the paved road: You design and harden reusable Azure blueprints for landing zones, AKS, Azure Container Apps, storage, PostgreSQL and related services.
• Infrastructure as code: You set design and testing practices for Terraform/OpenTofu modules, review contributions and manage versioning, state, compatibility and safe upgrades.
• CI/CD and golden pipelines: You design GitLab project templates and Java/Python pipelines with secure defaults, non-bypassable controls, release automation and evidence.
• Platform automation: You design integrations for identity, networking, firewall changes, onboarding, service registration and traceability with enterprise systems.
• Observability by default: You define reusable logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, alerts and health-check patterns for application and infrastructure blueprints.
• Reliability and operability: You apply SRE practices, guide complex incident diagnosis and improve recovery, runbooks and operational readiness.
• Application onboarding: You guide difficult new, replatforming and re-architecting workloads and resolve cross-team integration issues.
• Security and hardening: You work with Architecture, Security and Compliance to design policy guardrails, approval controls and secure-by-default patterns.
• Documentation and enablement: You coach engineers, review shared-asset contributions and maintain technical guidance for application and operational teams.
Required experience & competencies
Professional Experience
• Approximately seven or more years of hands-on cloud, DevOps, SRE or platform engineering experience; proven ownership matters more than a strict year count.
• Proven experience designing and operating cloud or internal developer platforms used by multiple application teams.
• Strong Azure production experience across PaaS, AKS/Kubernetes and managed application services.
• Deep Terraform/OpenTofu expertise, including reusable module design, automated testing, state, versioning and safe upgrades.
• Strong GitLab CI/CD or equivalent experience with reusable pipelines, automated controls and release workflows.
• Experience integrating networking, identity, security, observability and operational controls into platform automation.
• Experience leading complex application onboarding and troubleshooting production issues with developers and operations.
• Experience in regulated or highly controlled enterprise environments is an advantage.
• Professional fluency in English. French is a plus.
Soft Skills
• Strong hands-on ownership and technical judgement with a bias toward automation and reusable solutions.
• Ability to lead technical discussions across Platform Engineering, Architecture, Security, Compliance and Operations without people management.
• Advanced troubleshooting and ability to simplify complex technical decisions for other teams.
• A platform-as-a-product mindset balancing developer adoption, security and operational resilience.
• Constructive code review, coaching, documentation and knowledge sharing in an international environment.
Technical Skills
• Azure AKS, Azure Container Apps, PaaS, Storage, PostgreSQL, landing zones, identity and private networking.
• Advanced Terraform/OpenTofu module design, testing, state and upgrade management, policy-as-code and guardrails.
• GitLab CI/CD templates, protected branches, merge-request controls, supply-chain checks and release evidence automation.
• Kubernetes deployment, networking, identity, scaling and complex production troubleshooting.
• Logs, metrics, traces, alerts, health checks, SLI/SLO concepts, recovery and runbook design.
• Python, Bash or PowerShell and API integrations; ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM integration is a plus.
