As a Senior SRE in our India hub, you will tackle complex networking and service mesh challenges across a global footprint. Your expertise in Anthos and Istio will be critical in maintaining the high-availability platform that powers Cisco's most advanced AI initiatives.
Your Impact
Develop and maintain Terraform scripts to provision and manage scalable GCP and On-premise Kubernetes resources and Docker containers.
Configure and optimize Anthos Service Mesh (ASM) and Istio for service-to-service communication, security, and observability.
Implement and audit IAM roles and GCP Quotas, ensuring the environment is "Secure by Design" with robust encryption and secrets updates.
Build and leverage observability dashboards using Elasticsearch and Kibana to monitor system health and provide proactive alerts on performance and cost.
Execute capacity planning and scaling for new feature rollouts, ensuring the environment stays within defined cost envelopes and security standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
10+ years of hands-on experience in Cloud/On-prem Operations or DevOps.
Strong proficiency in Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker.
Extensive experience with IAM implementation, GCP Quota management, and Anthos Service Mesh (ASM)/Istio.
Proven experience with Apigee and the ELK stack.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Jenkins, Spinnaker, and GitHub for automated delivery.
Proven ability to manage hybrid traffic between cloud and on-premise platforms.
Strong analytical skills for cost envelope management and capacity planning.
Advanced proficiency with cloud provider CLIs and automation scripting.
