About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

The Opportunity

If you are a strategic sourcing professional who thrives at the intersection of complex commercial contracts, cutting-edge technology, and massive enterprise scale, this is your next move.

Salesforce is seeking a Senior Category Manager to own and execute sourcing strategies across our global software and technology stack. This isn't just about managing standard SaaS renewals. You will be the commercial architect for our next-generation software portfolio, taking the lead on negotiating, administering, and optimizing high-stakes contracts—including the rapidly evolving world of Generative AI.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Software Sourcing, you will have the autonomy to drive end-to-end sourcing projects, manage critical relationships, and deliver massive value to the bottom line.

What You'll Actually Be Doing
  • Own the Tech Portfolio: Drive end-to-end software, SaaS, and GenAI supplier-sourcing strategies that guarantee high quality, on-time delivery, and maximum cost-competitiveness.

  • Negotiate the Future: Lead high-complexity, large enterprise software negotiations. You will navigate complex business contract law, SaaS licensing, and the unique nuances of AI contracts (including token-based pricing and consumption models).

  • Partner with the C-Suite: Build trusted-advisor relationships with internal stakeholders and senior leaders, translating dense pricing structures and contract terms into clear, executive-ready presentations.

  • Drive Supplier Performance: Manage day-to-day relationships and lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with strategic software suppliers utilizing data-driven scorecards and performance metrics.

  • Run Advanced Data Analytics: Conduct deep spend analysis, category profiling, and cost modeling. You’ll use mathematical models and statistical techniques to forecast market trends and uncover hidden savings opportunities.

  • Execute Best-in-Class RFx: Utilize advanced RFI, RFP, and RFQ techniques to benchmark the market, select top-tier vendors, and secure a competitive advantage for Salesforce.

  • Elevate Procurement Practice: Implement proactive, forward-thinking procurement philosophies and systems that streamline cross-functional projects and protect company margins.

You're Our Person If...
  • Experience: 5–10 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, technology procurement, or supply chain management.

  • Domain Expertise: A rock-solid understanding of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) licensing structures, Public Cloud ecosystems, and a firm grasp of commercial contract law.

  • AI Fluency: Experience negotiating AI solutions with a firm understanding of token-based and consumption-focused pricing models.

  • Commercial Acumen: A proven track record of reviewing, drafting, and negotiating mid-to-high complexity contracts independently.

  • Operational Agility: A self-starter who thrives under minimal supervision, manages multiple high-priority projects simultaneously, and stays cool under tight deadlines.

  • Education: BA/BS degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
