Role Summary
The Senior Business Analyst is a key member of the Data & Analytics team, responsible for bridging business needs with technical solutions through advanced analysis and product support. This role focuses on translating business requirements into actionable deliverables, validating solutions, and enabling data-driven decision-making. While primarily tactical, the Senior Business Analyst leverages experience to influence prioritization and mentor junior analysts, ensuring high-quality outcomes across multiple initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Business Needs & Requirements
Partner with Product Owners to translate business needs into clear, actionable user stories and functional requirements.
Validate data solutions to ensure alignment with business objectives and intended outcomes.
Serve as an escalation point for complex analytical or technical issues.
Advanced Analysis & Insight Delivery
Conduct deeper, more complex analysis to uncover trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
Prepare and present insights in clear, actionable formats for business stakeholders.
Support prioritization of analytical work based on impact and feasibility.
Data Maturity & Enablement
Contribute to advancing organizational data maturity by applying advanced analytical methods.
Ensure data is documented, trusted, and accessible for self-service capabilities.
Mentor junior analysts on best practices, tools, and methodologies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with Engineers, BI Developers, and other CoP colleagues to prepare and transform data for analysis.
Participate in product testing, validation, and feedback cycles.
Engage in sprint ceremonies and Agile rituals as a subject matter participant.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Analytics, Computer Science, or related field.
5–8 years' experience in business analysis or data analytics within large-scale environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in SQL and BI tools (Tableau, Looker).
Expert knowledge in Excel; good knowledge of PowerPoint
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience supporting PI planning and sprint ceremonies.
Ability to work independently and mentor junior team members.
