About The Role 

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst with a thorough understanding of Front, Middle and Back Office Asset Management processes and the ability to interrogate and understand data to join our expanding Investment Management Change Team.  

The ideal candidate will have a broad technical and investments background, and is expected to perform analysis directly, defining the scope, requirements and success criteria for a variety of initiatives while also having the experience to lead other analysts. This role will primarily support the Investment Operations function within AIML 

MS AIML is managing a large programme of change work. Candidates with the right skillset will be able to get involved in other strategic projects such as a business transformation, performance and automation across support teams. 

MS Amlin is part of a global top-10 insurance group, MS&AD. We’re made up of four distinct businesses covering Global Reinsurance, Lloyds Franchise, Local Specialty Insurer, and Business Services. 

This role sits within MS AIML, the regulated investment management company of the MS Amlin brand (MSA). MSA is wholly owned by the MS&AD Group.  The investment clients of MS AIML include MSA companies and others in the wider MS&AD group.  

What You’ll Spend Your Time Doing 

  • Lead and mentor a team of Business Analysts, providing guidance on best practices, documentation standards, and analytical techniques. 

  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of consistent, high-quality documentation, including business requirements, process flows, and user stories, ensuring alignment with organizational standards. 

  • Document the current state, propose outcomes, and design target operating models that support new platforms and processes. 

  • Define and design simple, automated, and resilient solutions where possible. 

  • Define and manage test strategies, including the creation of test plans and scripts, coordinating UAT activities, and ensuring comprehensive requirements traceability. 

  • Plan, prepare, and oversee transition, and implementation phases for key initiatives. 

  • Collaborate across Investment Operations, Investment Management, DevOps, and Client teams to deliver change within our governance framework. 

  • Provide strategic input into business transformation and automation initiatives, influencing stakeholder decisions and ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals. 

  • Act as a senior point of contact for complex stakeholder engagements, supporting escalation management and resolution.

What We Need From You 

  • Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst or Lead Business Analyst within Asset Management and/or Investment Operations, working across either Front, Middle and Back Office functions. 

  • Strong knowledge of investment products, including fixed income, derivatives, equities, and ETFs. 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team, establish and maintain documentation and analysis standards, and drive continuous improvement across the BA function. 

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership. 

  • Strong analytical skills, particularly with IBOR (Investment Book of Record) and ABOR (Accounting Book of Record). 

  • Solid understanding of test management, including designing test plans, scripts, and coordinating UAT. 

  • Good knowledge of Excel and ability to query SQL Server using SSMS. 

  • A positive, proactive approach to problem-solving, with the flexibility to work in agile environments. 

  • Strong stakeholder management and influence skills, capable of driving alignment and securing buy-in across multiple teams.

What Can You Expect From Us? 

  • Competitive Base Salary 

  • Performance Related Discretionary Bonus 

  • Holiday: 28 days core annual leave, and you can buy up to 5 days  

  • Pension: A minimum 2% employee contribution plus 7% MS Amlin contribution (9%) up to a maximum of 5% employee contribution plus 13% MS Amlin contribution (18%)

  • Flex Fund: £1,000 (pro-rated based on start date) to spend on flexible benefits  

  • Life Assurance: 5 x annualised base salary
