PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $128,900.00-$157,500.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $99,900.00 - $186,400.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE: 

 

In the Senior Business Analyst – Encompass Mortgage LOS role, you’ll be a strategic partner and trusted guide—connecting business needs with effective, innovative technology solutions that elevate how BECU serves its members during the home lending process. As part of this work, you’ll play a key role in BECU’s current Mortgage LOS transition to Encompass and later support ongoing systems administration once the new platform is fully implemented.  

 

You’ll use your curiosity, relationshipbuilding skills, and broad application knowledge to uncover opportunities, streamline processes, and influence how systems evolve. Your work ensures that teams across BECU have the tools, insights, and support they need to succeed. As a senior contributor, you empower others—mentoring analysts, leading complex initiatives, and shaping futureready solutions that make a meaningful difference. 

To join our dynamic team in this role, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, CA, AZ, TX, NC, SC, GA, or VA. If you’re located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance to our Tukwila Headquarters (TFC), we encourage you come into the office on Tuesdays & Wednesdays each week.  For those candidates that live outside the commutable distance to TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be primarily remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

 

  • Champion Business Needs: Collaborate closely with stakeholders to elicit, document, and communicate clear business and user requirements. 

  • Design Smart Solutions: Lead teams in shaping technical approaches aligned to organizational goals. 

  • Optimize Vendor Partnerships: Translate specifications into vendor requirements and coordinate delivery. 

  • Ensure Quality & Readiness: Develop test plans, support user testing, and resolve issues. 

  • Steer Application Enhancements: Manage installation of patches, releases, and enhancements across environments. 

  • Drive Project Success: Lead enhancements and small projects as a project manager. 

  • Serve as a Consultative Partner: Advise business units to uncover opportunities and align technology. 

  • Prioritize What Matters Most: Partner with units to document and prioritize objectives. 

  • Lead Business Readiness Efforts: Identify people, process, and system impacts. 

  • Support Application Performance: Assist technical teams with complex production support. 

  • Create Clear Documentation: Maintain manuals, procedures, and operational documentation. 

  • Plan for the Future: Maintain application lifecycle roadmaps and disaster recovery plans. 

  • Mentor & Elevate Others: Support and guide less experienced analysts. 

  • Advance Data Management: Develop strategies for data flows and regulatory reporting. 

  • Contribute Broadly: Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical/related discipline required, or equivalent work or education related experience.  

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience working with business software applications. 

  • Experience working as a Systems Administrator, Business Analyst or similar for Encompass LOS, preferably with both Encompass Smart Client and Encompass Web platforms. 

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Advanced degree. 

  • Current Encompass Administrator Certification.

  • Experience configuring and supporting Consumer Connect

  • (Encompass POS) or another Encompass compatible POS platform (e.g. Blend).

  • Experience supporting LOS configurations during system transitions or migrations. 

  • Strong understanding of various project methodologies, including waterfall, agile, and Kanban, preferably through Azure DevOps (ADO). 

  • Knowledge of SQL and/or various relational database concepts and languages. 

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills to identify problems from a functional perspective, specifically when supporting end-user testing and training. 

  • Experience with multiple problem-solving methods and ability to use them as situationally appropriate.  

  • Ability to plan, organize, schedule, and implement projects and in accordance with BECU and industry project management methodologies. 

  • Advanced knowledge of Software Development Live Cycle (SDLC) practices. 

  • Ability to draw technical diagrams in Visio or similar to represent existing application relationships as well as designs for future state applications or data/process flows. 

  • Experienced with multiple methods for creating and communicating strong Business Cases, including financial analysis, strategic alignment and risk analysis. 

  • Skilled in multiple methods for analyzing and validating data at the source (e.g., SQL queries). 

  • Be available on an on-call basis to respond to pending issues or problems arising during non-business hours and provide support and response.
