The Role

Job Purpose:

  • Responsible for driving commercial success (best in class launch, performance) in Japan LOC by leading GSK X-functional team
  • Member of the Global/LOC cross-functional, shaping global strategy and co-creation

Key responsibilities:

  • Understand global strategy and initiatives, as well as local environment and insights in order to provide inputs to local Launch/Business plans
  • Identify growth and competitive opportunities and performance via agreed KPIs
  • Escalate and resolve issues including matters linked to performance and governance (e.g. JSR, XF perf call, PCLT, RMCB, etc.)
  • Track and understand performance and KPIs
  • Work closely with Japan cross-functional team to ensure plans are aligned across Regulatory, Medical, Legal, Finance, and GAMA.
  • Proactively provide strategic inputs and insights to Global team to support addressing needs of Japan strategy

Basic Qualification

Skill

  • Excellent strategic and critical thinking skills to lead strategic discussions.
  • Must have strong performance mindset and proven track record of delivery.
  • Extensive commercial experience, including brand marketing and sales leadership.
  • Ability to utilize insights from key customers – 3rd party, HCPs, patients – to drive key marketing decisions and forecasts.
  • Effective communications and negotiation skills for a wide variety of audiences, including senior management.
  • Basic knowledge and capabilities about finance including forecasting.
  • High governance mind-set and understanding.

Experience

  • New product/indication launch experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in marketing brand management.
  • Experience in a direct customer facing role (i.e. field sales, account management, sales liaison etc.), and overall 10-year experience in pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience in working closely with global team.

Education/certification/Language

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business/ Medicine related/ Related discipline)
  • Japanese: Native level
  • English: Business level (written and spoken)

Preferred Qualification

Experience

  • Commercial experience for immunology/hematology area preferred and additional pharma marketing experience in analytics, market research or digital marketing will be a plus

Education/certification/Language

  • MBA or other advanced degree (MS, PhD) preferred.
