Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer with deep expertise in the Laravel framework to join our growing team. In this role, you will take the lead in designing, developing, and optimizing robust backend services and APIs that power our applications. You’ll play a key role in architectural decisions, mentor team members, and collaborate closely with stakeholders to deliver scalable and high-performance solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Laravel and PHP.
Work closely with front-end developers and product teams to integrate and deliver new features.
Create and optimize database schemas, queries, and indexing strategies for performance.
Write clean, testable, and secure code following modern PHP and Laravel best practices.
Troubleshoot, debug, and improve existing systems and legacy codebases.
Participate in peer code reviews, testing, and deployment workflows.
Contribute to technical discussions, system design, and architecture decisions.
Stay updated with the latest Laravel features, PHP improvements, and backend development trends.
Requirements
4+ years of backend development experience, with 3+ years working professionally with Laravel.
Solid understanding of OOP, MVC architecture, and RESTful API design.
Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other relational databases.
Proficient in using Git and working within collaborative version control environments.
Familiarity with Redis, queues (e.g., Laravel Queues), caching layers, and token-based authentication.
Experience working in cloud environments like AWS, GCP, or similar is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Comfortable navigating complex backend code and contributing to long-term improvements.
Nice to Have
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment tools.
Familiarity with Docker or container-based development.
Exposure to frontend frameworks (Vue.js, React, or Angular).
Performance tuning and security hardening experience.
