The Senior Associate, Project Finance, plays a critical role in executing the financing of Pivot Energy’s projects. Where an Associate executes defined tasks within a process maintained by others, the Senior Associate carries an established process forward, running assigned facility workflows through a full cycle from prior-cycle materials with limited intervention and high accuracy. The Senior Associate will lead diligence workflows and certain funding workflows with the guidance and support of Managers and Directors, serve as the anchored owner of assigned facility workflows within Project Finance's Associate operating model, and coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure financing readiness and compliance across active facilities. Managers retain ownership of the financing outcome, material exceptions, negotiations, and final approvals, and the role does not include direct people management or the construction of financial models.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own assigned facility workflows (e.g., funding certificates and capital calls, Flow of Funds and cash cycling, facility Working Files, Independent Engineer coordination and quarterly compliance, refinancing diligence), carrying each through a full cycle from prior-cycle materials, adapting to current facts and escalating exceptions with a recommended next step.
- Own diligence processes for assigned facilities, including managing data rooms, coordinating third-party reviews (e.g., independent engineer, legal counsel, insurance consultants, appraisers), and resolving diligence items and risks as they arise, revalidating diligence that has gone stale or is missing.
- Validate information to source before it is relied upon or reported, including document-to-data validation of project inputs to financial models and critical-date tracking against governing contracts, and return discrepancies with a supportable conclusion and recommended next step.
- Drive cross-functional coordination across internal teams (e.g., project development and delivery, project acquisitions, corporate client solutions, O&M, revenue operations, accounting, insurance, Legal) to ensure funding readiness and adherence to financing requirements.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for external stakeholders on assigned financings, including managing standing calls, information requests, and ongoing compliance reporting, verifying status against the system of record before it is communicated.
- Monitor project and financing readiness across development and construction activities, anticipating execution risks and driving mitigation with limited escalation.
- Improve and standardize diligence tools and execution processes to support scalable, repeatable financing workflows across the Project Finance team, documenting workflows so another trained Associate can operate them and adopting AI-enabled diligence tools with clear human-review points.
- Train and cross-train Associates on owned workflows through documented handoffs and shadowing on live work, and coordinate with the shared Associate Pool on administrative execution (e.g., data rooms, invoices, lien searches, system updates) while retaining accountability for quality and readiness.
- Support Managers and Directors by providing execution visibility, surfacing material risks with their implications and a recommended course of action, and contributing to continuous improvement of financing strategies.
