About the Position

Reporting to the Manager of MLE Strategy, you will provide end-to-end MLE execution support for 1-2 Francophone country programs within the Syphilis-Free Start portfolio. This includes supporting active data collection, ensuring quality throughout the M&E lifecycle, completing and interrogating in-depth quantitative and qualitative analysis, and generating comprehensive reports. You will also contribute to cross-country learning and provide ad-hoc support to other geographies as needed.

We are looking for someone with hands-on experience in quantitative analysis and a strong foundation in statistics or a related field.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End MLE Execution:
    • Provide end-to-end execution support for MLE activities in 1-2 country programs, including survey iteration support, data collection coordination, analysis, and reporting, with oversight from your manager
    • Support active data collection processes by coordinating with data collection partners and program teams on timelines, logistics, and deliverables
    • Draft and iterate on deliverables such as annual survey reports, design guides, and data summaries
    • Track milestones and deadlines, manage work plans, and coordinate with program and regional MLE stakeholders for assigned geographies
  • Data Analysis and Quality Assurance:
    • Conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis using statistical software (Stata preferred), including analysis of survey data and program monitoring data
    • Ensure quality throughout the M&E lifecycle by executing quality control protocols, including survey testing, review of deliverables from other MLE functions (such as digitization and field operations), and data interrogation follow-up
    • Support data quality and assurance processes, including high-frequency checks and quality analysis
    • Coordinate across MLE functions, program teams, and field operations to test, prepare, and review survey instruments and data outputs
  • Project Management and Coordination:
    • Manage administrative tasks, project timelines, and cross-team coordination for assigned country workstreams
    • Coordinate with data collection firms to ensure deliverables stay on track and aligned with program plans

Requirements
  • You have a Master's degree in economics, statistics, epidemiology, public health, or related quantitative field
  • You have at least 1 year of professional experience independently leading quantitative data analysis, including managing and analyzing large datasets using statistical software (Stata strongly preferred, R or similar also acceptable).
  • You are experienced with M&E concepts, frameworks, and methodologies, including developing data collection tools, supporting survey design, or conducting implementation research, particularly in international health program contexts
  • You have worked in or with programs in sub-Saharan Africa.
  • You are able to work variable hours to overlap with colleagues across time zones, and have experience working collaboratively in a global, matrixed environment
  • You collaborate effectively across teams and departments, seeking to understand needs and problem-solve collectively

What We Do

Evidence Action is a global non-profit operating in seven countries in Africa and Asia. We were founded in 2013 to address a big gap in the fight against global poverty–many of the most promising interventions are either implemented at a very small scale, or not at all. We set out to address this gap by building programs that would scale evidence-based and cost-effective interventions, leading to significant improvements in quality of life for hundreds of millions. Our model worked. In less than a decade, our two flagship programs, the Deworm the World Initiative and Dispensers for Safe Water, have grown to measurably impact over 280 million people each year by supporting governments to deworm and through our last-mile delivery network providing safe water access. This success is achieved through the dedication and talent of our staff, the hard work of our partners, and the commitment of our supporters. Every part of our work across the lifecycle of our programs is driven by evidence. This starts with the interventions we select to invest in, and continues as we use real-time data to refine and adapt our operations, including responding rapidly and effectively to resolve challenges as they arise. Our pursuit of cost-effectiveness is driven by a recognition that when we optimize every aspect of our programs, we can reach as many people–and do as much good– as possible with each dollar. We measure value for money in terms of the number of lives we can help improve. Scale enables our massive impact. We invest in solutions for which the need is great, and leverage existing networks like schools or community organizations to grow rapidly, minimize costs, and increase efficiencies. We think big and act urgently–because poverty does not wait. By 2024, we seek to double our impact. We are strengthening and expanding our existing programs, and working to identify a new generation of evidence-based and cost-effective interventions that we can scale to reach millions more
