Senior AP Analyst

Autodesk is seeking a forward-thinking Senior Accounts Payable Analyst with a strong foundation in AP operations and a proven track record in automation and AI-driven process transformation. This role is based in Bangalore and reports to the Manager of Global Accounts Payable. It goes beyond transactional processing: you will be expected to identify scalable automation solutions and leverage technologies such as RPA, AI/ML, and intelligent document processing to improve efficiency, accuracy, and control across the AP function.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices per SLA

• Analyze, research, and resolve invoice discrepancies with appropriate internal and external resources

• Respond to AP-related queries from vendors and internal customers

• Process payments according to the scheduled payment timeline

• Perform month-end closing tasks, including reconciling accounts payable-related general ledger accounts, analyzing aging items, clearing suspense accounts, and posting journal entries

• Work with relevant stakeholders, including Procurement and Finance, to clear accounts payable balances

• Ensure accounts payable-related balances are reconciled and provide valid explanations for aged items

• Identify opportunities to automate manual AP processes and reduce touchpoints

• Lead end-to-end automation projects, from business case development through deployment and post-implementation optimization

• Liaise with the extended Finance team to fulfil the local tax/statutory audit requirements in a timely and accurate manner

• Prepare reporting schedules and resolve audit issues identified by auditors

• Ensure adherence to Autodesk policies, procedures, and SOX controls

• Provide coaching and training to team members on AP processes and automation tools

• Promote a digital and automation-first mindset within the AP team

• Analyze actual spending against historical and forecasted amounts, and explain variances to Corporate Accounting to support the quarter-end close process

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting

• More than 10 years of end-to-end Accounts Payable experience, preferably in a large multinational organization

• Demonstrated experience in leading or implementing AP automation / digital transformation projects

• Hands-on exposure to RPA tools, AI/OCR solutions, or workflow automation platforms

• Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA and OpenText

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

• Willingness to support extended hours during month-end close

• Must be fluent in spoken and written English

• Handle complex issues with minimal supervision
