The Assistant Manager – Governance & Compliance (Consumer Services) plays a critical role in strengthening the governance and risk management framework for the Consumer Services business. The position acts as a key coordinator between business teams, Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, Legal, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory expectations, and operational risk standards. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
Role Overview And Core Responsibilities
Roles & Responsibilities
Governance Support
- Support the implementation and monitoring of governance controls across Consumer Services.
- Maintain governance documents, policies, SOPs, and control trackers.
- Assist in identifying control gaps and follow up on corrective actions with relevant stakeholders.
Regulatory Compliance & RBI Reporting
- Support the preparation and submission of periodic RBI and regulatory reports.
- Ensure accuracy and timely completion of reporting requirements.
- Track regulatory updates and assist in implementing applicable requirements.
Risk Assessment & Monitoring
- Assist in conducting Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA).
- Monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and support risk reporting activities.
- Follow up on risk mitigation actions and track closure of identified risks.
Audit & Compliance Coordination
- Coordinate with Internal Audit, Compliance, and business teams for audit-related activities.
- Support preparation of audit responses and documentation.
- Track audit observations and assist in timely closure of action items.
MIS Reporting & Stakeholder Coordination
- Prepare routine MIS, governance dashboards, and status reports.
- Coordinate with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Audit, and business teams on governance initiatives.
- Escalate delays, exceptions, or compliance concerns as appropriate and support process improvement efforts.
Required Knowledge And Experiences
Experience and Skills
- Qualification: Experience in Banking / NBFC / Financial Services preferred or a related field
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in governance, compliance, risk, or audit roles
- Exposure to RBI data submissions, audits, or inspections – desirable
- Graduate or Postgraduate in Finance, Business, or a related field
- Flexibility to travel as needed
- Executive presence and assertiveness.
- Self-starter, ability to work independently, handle ambiguous situations and exercise judgement in variety of situations.
- Strong communication, organizational, verbal & written skills.
- High degree of responsibility and ownership, strong multitasking, coordination and tenaciously looking for ways to get results.
