We have exciting new opportunities in our global respiratory R&D group at Scientist and Senior Scientist level across multiple technical disciplines (analytical, material sciences and formulation). These roles will play a central part within Viatris in creating new respiratory products by applying technical expertise to the development of our portfolio of NCE and generic products. Technical opportunities exist for candidates to join our science-focused department where technical excellence delivers innovation for Viatris, supporting product development, clinical studies and product registration of inhaled and nasal products, including pressurised metered dose inhalers, dry powder inhalers and solutions / suspensions for nebulization.
Key responsibilities for the roles include:
Carrying out all analytical, material science or formulation activities required to deliver new respiratory products to clinical studies and commercialisation.
Planning and executing experiments to generate scientific understanding in development of analytical methods, formulations and processes.
Processing and reviewing data, interpreting results and reporting experimental outcomes to project development team.
Troubleshooting equipment issues or aberrant data.
Participating in activities to improve departmental capabilities, e.g. implementation of new technologies.
The minimum qualifications for this role are:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree (for example Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Forensics, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences) or equivalent, or substantial practical work experience.
Good understanding of laboratory safety and best practice
Has a good understanding of basic scientific principles relating to their area of expertise and, for more experienced candidates, can demonstrate advanced knowledge in specific areas related to their experience.
Familiar with calculations used in their area of expertise and the application of statistics.
Has a good understanding and appropriate practical experience of modern laboratory techniques.
Able to work autonomously to deliver individual or multiple tasks and plan own work to consistently achieve output of high-quality results in a timely manner.
Able to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Good IT skills (including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Enthusiasm to work in a laboratory-based role.
