The opportunity

We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Analyst, LMI Capital Management to join the Strategy and Analytics team. As a Senior Analyst you will provide data analysis and insights to support business decisions, focusing primarily on capital management, but also involved in stress testing, scenario analysis, portfolio pricing, data analytics and credit risk support.

Your new role

As a Senior Analyst your key responsibilities will include providing capital support, conducting detailed financial modelling analysis, providing training and mentoring to other team members, conducting research and analysis on industry, assisting foster a robust risk culture and assisting in relationship management with the wider QBE business.  You will also:

  • Provide data, analysis, insights and recommendations for the Senior Manager, Strategy and Analytics LMI

  • Undertake complex data analysis, insight, solutions and recommendations

  • Perform stress testing and scenario analysis

  • Support LMI pricing and credit risk

  • Monitor industry and regulatory developments

About you

To be successful as a Senior Analyst, LMI Capital Management you will have an Actuarial, Accounting, Statistical or Finance background. You will have extensive experience in Financial Services. You will also have:

  • Tertiary qualified with professional qualification required to work in Capital

  • A working knowledge of APRA or other Regulatory Bodies

  • Experience working in Treasury or Balance Sheet Risk or Capital Management function preferred with experience in stress testing and project management

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with strong data analysis skills, including advanced excel

  • PowerBI skills, SQL and SAS or python skills preferred

  • Experience with data cleaning, transformation and validation preferred
