General Summary:

The Senior Analyst position will leverage financial knowledge and business acumen to develop financial analyses and models, draw conclusions and make recommendations that provide actionable insights on results and drive improvements. This role will play a key part in financial planning, strategic analysis, forecasting, and executive decision support. The position will partner cross-functionally with operations, commercial leadership, accounting, and executive management to support strategic initiatives, operational performance improvement, and M&A activity.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Lead periodic forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-range planning processes.
  • Generate periodic reports (monthly, quarterly, and annually) for executive review, emphasizing significant trends and fiscal indicators, and assembling presentations.
  • Perform scenario analysis and sensitivity modeling to support strategic decision-making.
  • Analyze business performance trends, KPIs, margin drivers, and cash flow impacts.
  • Partner with operational leaders to identify risks, opportunities, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Support M&A activities including financial due diligence, synergy analysis, valuation support, and post-acquisition integration planning.
  • Assist with integration of acquired businesses into financial reporting, forecasting, and planning processes.
  • Leverage modern FP&A and BI tools to automate reporting and improve analytical capabilities.
  • Improve financial processes, data integrity, and reporting scalability across the organization.
  • Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting and analysis of the results of the division’s performance against historical, budgeted and strategic planning results.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of financial outcomes, explore variances, and furnish comprehensive variance reports.
  • Independently align analyses with your business partners, challenging business partner assumptions when necessary.
  • Provide analysis, recommendations, and action plans to business leaders to support operational and growth decisions.
  • Develop executive level communications materials, reporting packages, and presentations.
  • Support ad hoc strategic projects and board-level analysis.
  • Assists with other projects as assigned by management.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field. MBA a plus.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in a corporate business environment in FP&A, finance, investment banking, transaction advisory, or a related analytical role.
  • Proven advanced modeling skills including 3-statement modeling and scenario planning.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow analysis, and operational finance.
  • Experience supporting M&A due diligence and integration activities preferred.
  • Experience with modern FP&A and analytics tools such as: Planful, Adaptive Planning, Anaplan, Power BI, Tableau, Oracle EPM, Vena Solutions, SAP Analytics Cloud.
  • Advanced computer skills with proficiency with Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Previous sophisticated ERP system experience and JD Edwards preferred.
  • Experience working in distribution or manufacturing industry in the private sector preferred.

Working Conditions:

The work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office environment. This position requires the ability to work under pressure and with a diverse population including other employees, customers, vendors, etc. This position also requires prolonged periods of sitting in a regular seated position as well as the use of general office equipment including phones, printers, computers, (mouse, keyboard, etc.).
