The Senior Analyst plays a critical role in managing and optimizing the full lifecycle of accounts receivable operations across all AJC business lines inclusive of subscription revenue and advertising revenue. This position is responsible for overseeing credit evaluation, customer onboarding, collections, cash application, and customer support functions. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in AR processes, demonstrate leadership in resolving complex issues, and contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Credit & Customer Onboarding
- Evaluate and approve credit applications using third-party reports, trade references, and financial analysis.
- Make credit line decisions that balance revenue growth with risk mitigation.
- Ensure compliance with company credit policies and procedures.
- Oversee setup and maintenance of advertiser and agency accounts across multiple billing systems.
Collections Management
- Lead collection efforts to minimize past-due balances and bad debt write-offs.
- Analyze aging reports and proactively resolve payment discrepancies.
- Collaborate with Account Executives and internal teams to ensure timely resolution of outstanding balances.
- Recommend accounts for third-party collections when necessary.
Cash Application
- Oversee accurate and timely application of payments received via lockbox, ACH, and credit card.
- Investigate and resolve unapplied or misapplied funds, to include working from system generated reports to resolve non-standard payments, bank errors and chargebacks
- Process overpayments and/or any customer refunds
- Support month-end close processes and reconciliation efforts. Including month-end analytics and AR aging analysis
Customer Support & Order Processing
- Provide high-level support for AR-related inquiries via phone and shared email inboxes.
- Process credit card payments and manage issues related to declined or expiring cards.
- Ensure timely processing of orders and billing for special-handling customers.
Process Improvement & Leadership
- Identifies, recommends and implements process enhancements to improve AR efficiency and accuracy.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and support management directives.
- Works with Accounting colleagues to maintain internal controls
Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 4 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 2 years' experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 8 years' experience in a related field.
- Strong understanding of credit evaluation and collections best practices.
- Experience with credit granting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP and billing systems.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
USD 65,500.00 - 98,300.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $65,500.00 - $98,300.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
