The Role
A Data Analyst specializing in SQL and Regulatory Risk or Capital Markets is responsible for extracting, analyzing, and interpreting complex data sets to support risk management, compliance, and business decision-making within financial services. This role requires strong SQL skills and a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks or capital markets operations. Key Responsibilities Extract, manipulate, and analyze large data sets using SQL to support regulatory risk or capital market initiatives. Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders. Collaborate with risk management, compliance, and business teams to understand data requirements and regulatory obligations. Validate and ensure data quality and accuracy for risk reporting and regulatory submissions. Identify trends, anomalies, and potential risks through data analysis. Support the implementation and monitoring of regulatory compliance programs. Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports and capital market risk assessments. Automate data extraction and reporting processes to improve efficiency. Stay updated on relevant regulatory changes and capital market developments affecting data requirements. Required Skills and Qualifications Proficiency in SQL for querying and managing large databases. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar. Knowledge of regulatory risk frameworks (e.g., Basel III, Dodd-Frank, MiFID II) or capital market operations. Familiarity with risk management concepts and financial instruments. Attention to detail and ability to ensure data accuracy. Strong communication skills to present findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. Experience with Excel and other data manipulation tools.
