This role is an Australia-based, fully work-from-home position, with access to co-working spaces in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Job Description

We’re harnessing the power of Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models (LLMs) to revolutionise our industry. As a Senior AI Modeller, you’ll play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimising cutting-edge AI-driven solutions. You’ll work on state-of-the-art machine learning models, collaborate with world-class engineers and product teams, and drive real-world impact.

What You’ll Be Doing:

AI/ML Product Development:

• Design, train, and optimise advanced machine learning models, including Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Collaborate with Machine Learning Engineers (MLEs) to ensure seamless deployment and integration.
• Maintain version control (Git) and work in shared environments.

Data Mastery & Model Evaluation:

• Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets for AI/ML training.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover key insights and patterns.
• Implement rapid experimentation frameworks (e.g., ClearML) and conduct rigorous evaluations to refine models.

Driving AI Innovation & Business Impact

• Align AI development with business needs, identifying new opportunities for AI-driven solutions.
• Work closely with product teams and stakeholders to turn ideas into cutting-edge AI applications.
• Keep up with industry advancements and integrate the latest AI/LLM research into our products.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work alongside product managers, data engineers, software developers, and MLEs.
• Translate complex AI concepts into clear insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

Technical Expertise:

• Proven experience developing machine learning models in Python.
• Strong background in Large Language Models (LLMs) and related technologies (e.g., transformers, fine-tuning).
• Hands-on experience with version control (Git) and collaborative development.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis, experimentation, and model evaluation.
• Familiarity with cloud computing (GCP AI/ML services).

Mindset & Soft Skills:

• Passion for AI innovation and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
• Ability to communicate complex AI concepts to diverse audiences.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a results-driven approach.
• Experience mentoring and coaching junior team members.
