The Opportunity

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Accountant to join the Dexus Group Finance team as Senior Accountant. In this role, the Senior Accountant is responsible and accountable for ensuring the accuracy of accounting records, management and statutory reports for the listed Group and its subsidiaries with focus on Dexus Operations Trust, which forms part of the listed Dexus business. The responsibilities of this role will be varied ranging from corporate accounting tasks to tax compliance, delivering insightful Board reporting based on an in-depth knowledge of the Group’s activities and supporting managers with the half year and year end audits to ensure deadlines are met.

The Senior Accountant will business partner with internal stakeholders (across P&A, Tax, Funds, Investments and Property Finance), and pro-actively engage with external stakeholders/service providers to ensure expectations are successfully managed and delivered.

You will make an impact by:

  • Delivering timely and accurately monthly stand-alone and consolidated results and accompanying analysis, including reporting packs.

  • Delivering timely and accurate half year and annual statutory financial statements, including proactively managing the audit process and the preparation of reporting packs and papers.

  • Preparing timely and accurate monthly reconciliations.

  • Proactively identifying and driving process improvements (e.g. automation), including working with other stakeholders to effect these changes.

  • Supporting the wider Group Finance team with technical analysis and implementation of transactions (accounting treatment including disclosures) and other complex areas (e.g. share-based payments).

  • Liaising with the Property and Funds Finance teams to ensure results that impact the listed business are accurately reported.

  • Assisting in the implementation of new accounting standards and accounting policies across the Dexus platform (e.g. AASB 18).

About You

You are a technically astute Accountant with CA/CPA qualifications and ideally 3-5 years’ experience in an accounting role. Prior Big 4 experience and exposure to funds management and/or property will prove to be highly advantageous for this role.

You will bring:

  • Prior experience in financial reporting

  • Experience working with Yardi, TM1 and/or Workiva systems

  • High attention to detail partnered with a willingness to take initiative and problem-solve

  • An ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a high-performing team
