Position Summary

The International Senior Accountant will be responsible for accounting, statutory compliance, financial reporting, and governance activities for Tekion's international subsidiaries including Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, and future international entities. This individual will partner closely with Corporate Accounting, Tax, Payroll, Legal, FP&A, external auditors, and local accounting firms to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and compliance with local statutory requirements. This role requires strong knowledge of multinational accounting operations, intercompany accounting, statutory compliance, and cross-border finance processes.

Primary Responsibilities

1. International Accounting & Month-End Close

  • Own monthly close activities for assigned international entities.

  • Prepare journal entries.

  • Review trial balances and ensure completeness and accuracy and perform analytical reviews of monthly financial results.

  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Review P&L fluctuations and investigate unusual variances.

  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and Corporate Accounting Policies. Support local GAAP adjustments where applicable.

  • Coordinate month-end close with Shared Services (Tekion India) and Corporate Accounting (US).

2. Balance Sheet Reconciliations

  • Responsible for timely reconciliation of all the balance sheet accounts for International Entities. Ensure all reconciliations are completed, reviewed, and supported within close timelines.

3. Intercompany Accounting

  • Manage monthly intercompany accounting, prepare transfer pricing entries, coordinate cross-border allocations

  • Investigate and resolve intercompany differences.

  • Prepare monthly Intercompany Reconciliation packages.

  • Coordinate settlement of intercompany balances.

  • Support transfer pricing implementation.

4. Compliance Calendar Management

  • Develop and maintain a centralized compliance tracker covering various items like VAT filings; GST filings; Payroll filings; Corporate tax returns; Transfer pricing deadlines; Annual statutory audit; Annual accounts; Board approvals; Annual returns; Director filings; Regulatory filings; Business licenses; Local registrations etc. Monitor deadlines and ensure timely completion.

5. Statutory Audit Coordination

  • Serve as primary accounting contact for local auditors and also support Corporate Audit, as needed

6. Transfer Pricing

  • Coordinate with Corporate Tax and advisors for TP documentation, Intercompany agreements, Recharge calculations, Cost-plus computations, Benchmark studies, Annual TP filings & TP audit support. Ensure accounting aligns with transfer pricing policies.

7. Payroll Accounting

  • Partner with Payroll team to: Review payroll journals, Reconcile payroll accounts, Ensure statutory deductions are recorded, Support payroll audits

8. Financial Reporting

  • Prepare Monthly reporting packages, Flux analyses, Balance Sheet review packages, Corporate reporting requests & External reporting schedules

9. Process Improvements

  • Drive automation and standardization by Developing SOPs, Improving close processes, Automating reconciliations, Reducing manual journal entries, Enhancing internal controls, Supporting NetSuite optimization

10. New Entity Setup Support

  • Support expansion into new countries by assisting with Accounting setup, NetSuite configuration, Bank account setup, Compliance calendar creation First statutory filings

11. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Corporate Accounting, Tax Consultants, FP&A, Payroll, Legal, Treasury, HR, External Consulting Firms & External Auditors

Key Deliverables

  • The successful candidate will:

· Complete month-end close within corporate timelines.

· Achieve 100% on-time statutory filings.

· Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations with no aged unreconciled items.

· Resolve intercompany differences before close.

· Coordinate timely completion of all statutory audits.

· Maintain a centralized global compliance calendar.

· Ensure transfer pricing compliance and supporting documentation.

· Support successful external audits with minimal audit adjustments.

· Standardize accounting and compliance processes across all international entities.

Qualifications Education

  • Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.

Experience:

  • 5–7 years of accounting experience.

  • At least 3 years supporting multinational legal entities.

  • Experience with international statutory compliance.

  • Experience working with external accounting firms.

  • Experience with multinational audits.

  • Knowledge of intercompany accounting and transfer pricing.

  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP.

  • Strong understanding of US GAAP; exposure to IFRS and local GAAP is preferred.
