Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in overseeing accounting activities across multiple business entities within the MCT division of Helios Technologies. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this position is responsible for complex accounting activities, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and month-end close responsibilities that support accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting.

 

The role provides broad exposure to multi-entity accounting, manufacturing operations, and continuous improvement initiatives, with opportunities to expand ownership and develop into a future finance leader.

 

What you will own:

  • Manage and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities across multiple entities, assuming greater ownership as responsibilities expand.
  • Partner with entity finance teams and operational leaders to ensure accounting issues are identified, communicated, and resolved timely
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Analyze financial results and investigate significant balance sheet and income statement variances.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
  • Maintain ownership of assigned balance sheet accounts and resolve reconciling items promptly.
  • Manage intercompany accounting activities across multiple legal entities, including transaction alignment, account reconciliation, variance resolution, and support for consolidation processes
  • Manage capital expenditure tracking, fixed asset accounting, and project accounting initiatives.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and support internal and external audits through preparation of schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Lead or support accounting automation, ERP enhancements, and process improvement initiatives that strengthen reconciliation, close, and reporting processes

 

How you will grow and lead:

  • Provide accounting guidance and support to staff accountants and other finance team members.
  • Cross-train amongst entities and accounting functions to strengthen organizational coverage and consistency.
  • Support the integration of newly acquired businesses and the standardization of accounting policies and processes.
  • Develop the capabilities necessary to assume broader accounting and leadership responsibilities across the organization.

 

What you bring:

 

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement analysis.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Preferred:

  • Manufacturing industry experience.
  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional accounting certification.
  • Experience working in a multi-entity environment.
  • Strong ERP experience, including Infor SyteLine, Aptean Made2Manage, Epicor Manage 2000, Business Central, or similar systems.
  • Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, or financial process standardization initiatives.
