Are you a Senior Accountant or Financial Analyst who thrives on looking beyond the numbers to drive real business decisions? Do you combine strong commercial analytical skills with the interpersonal diplomacy needed to partner effectively with senior leaders?

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to step into a high-impact, newly created role based at our Head Office in Melbourne. Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, you will take ownership of global treasury operations while serving as the primary financial partner to our department heads across operating expense management, budgeting, and continuous forecasting.

About the Role

As our global operations expand across digital transformation, voice AI, and customer experience solutions, maintaining financial agility and cash visibility is paramount.

In this autonomous role, you will bridge the gap between financial governance and commercial strategy. You will oversee cash optimisation across our global bank accounts while working hand-in-hand with Australian business leaders to keep operating expenses aligned with long-term strategic targets. Supported by our offshore Finance Shared Services team, you will have the latitude to automate processes, refine dynamic forecasting models, and influence cost discipline across the business.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Global Treasury Management: Oversee cash visibility across international accounts, lead short-term liquidity forecasting, monitor FX exposures, and support banking partner relationships.

  • OpEx Budgeting & Continuous Forecasting: Lead annual operating expense budget cycles across departments. Maintain continuous rolling forecast models covering both labour and non-labour spend.

  • Commercial Variance Analysis: Perform deep-dive monthly spend reviews, identifying core drivers behind financial variances, risks, and cost-saving opportunities.

  • Strategic Business Partnering: Deliver actionable insights to department leaders, helping them navigate resource planning, vendor commitments, and budget controls with clarity.

  • Financial Operations & Projects: Assist with month-end closes, year-end audit compilation, balance sheet reconciliations, and ongoing ERP/treasury tool automation initiatives.

What You Bring to the Table
  • Relevant Experience: 4+ years in accounting, financial analysis, or commercial finance within a mid-to-large services-based enterprise environment.

  • Treasury Capability: Direct exposure to treasury functions—including liquidity forecasting, bank account management, or cash pooling arrangements.

  • Exceptional Communication Skills: A collaborative, tactful approach to stakeholder management. You know how to build trust with non-finance leaders and deliver polite, effective pushback when managing budgets.

  • Analytical Acumen: The ability to translate complex numerical data into clear, compelling narratives for leadership.

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modelling skills. Experience with ERP or FP&A systems (such as NetSuite, Kyriba, WD Adaptive Planning, or Blackline) is highly regarded.

  • Qualifications: A tertiary degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA, CA, or ACCA qualifications (completed or in progress) are preferred.
