Purpose of Role/Summary:
The role is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting, effective accounting operations, and adherence to regulatory and internal control requirements. This includes the preparation and submission of Capital Markets Authority (CMA) reports, maintenance of accurate financial records in SAP, preparation of management and audit reports, reconciliation of accounts, and timely filing of statutory tax returns. The position also supports continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function, contributing to strong financial governance, operational efficiency, and overall business integrity.
Main Activities and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit Capital Markets Authority (CMA) reports on a daily, monthly, semi-annual, and annual basis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting standards
- Record and maintain accurate journal entries and transactions in SAP accounting software in line with company policies and accounting principles
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports, ensuring timely submission and supporting accounts and variance analysis
- Conduct regular reconciliation of supplier statements of account and promptly resolve any discrepancies
- Prepare audit schedules and provide detailed support and documentation to both internal and external auditors
- Contribute to the development, documentation, and implementation of the company’s Internal Controls Manual, ensuring ongoing compliance and operational efficiency
- Perform accurate and timely bank reconciliations, identifying and addressing variances
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of VAT, Service Tax, and other statutory tax returns, in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain comprehensive Fixed Asset Registers and prepare corresponding schedules
- Support the finance team with ad hoc tasks and special projects as assigned, contributing to continuous process improvement
- Any other duties that are requested and relevant to the role
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree, Business, Accounting & Finance from a recognized institution
- +4 Years Experience of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, or audit
- Professional Qualification - ACCA/CPA (K)
- Fluent In English both written and spoken
- Proficiency in SAP or other major accounting software, and strong Excel and Microsoft Office Suite skills
- Sound knowledge of IFRS, financial controls, and tax compliance requirements
- Proven ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality in handling financial information
- Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and results-oriented mindset
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Adaptable, proactive, and committed to continuous learning and process improvement
