Job Summary

The Senior Accountant, Capex Operations is responsible for overseeing the capitalization and accounting of fixed assets across a complex global portfolio of Oracle Fixed Asset subledgers. This role ensures compliance with accounting policies, U.S. GAAP and internal controls while maintaining the integrity of fixed asset records. The role supports financial close and audit activities and serves as a key business partner to cross-functional teams involved in capital project execution and asset management.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing a diverse portfolio of fixed asset across multiple entities/countries, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders, and working within Oracle Cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the review and approval of asset capitalization activity across a large portfolio of global fixed asset subledgers, ensuring compliance with company policy and accounting standards

  • Oversee the accurate recording of fixed asset additions, transfers, retirements, impairments, and adjustments within the Oracle Fixed Assets subledger

  • Prepare and review general ledger journal entries related to CAPEX, and other assigned areas

  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions in accordance with U.S. GAAP, company policies, and internal control requirements

  • Prepare and review account reconciliations

  • Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including financial analysis and reporting

  • Perform financial statement variance and flux analysis

  • Execute and document SOX controls

  • Coordinate and prepare audit support documentation for quarterly reviews, annual audits, and SEC reporting requirements

  • Drive process improvements, standardization initiatives, and automation opportunities within Oracle Fixed Assets and related Capex processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience

  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting

  • Advanced Excel skills including PivotTables and XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Experience performing accounting research and applying accounting guidance

  • Experience with CAPEX, Fixed Assets, or Project Accounting preferred

  • Experience with Oracle Cloud ERP, Oracle PPM, and/or Project Costing (PCS) preferred

  • Experience with Hyperion Essbase or Smart View preferred

  • CPA certification or progress toward CPA preferred
