THE ROLE:

The Brands & Agencies organization is run as five pods, one per buyer group. Your pod, WPP, Publicis, or Omnicom is led by a VP and staffed with account executives who own the client and planning relationships. You're the technical specialist in that pod: you own the two layers the rest of the team supports but doesn't run, your Holdco's data organization and its trading desk.

This is a specialist individual-contributor role, not a junior one. You’ll carry your own curation and audience revenue number, and you will be the most technical person in the room on most calls, including calls where your VP is the senior relationship owner and you are there because the questions have gotten specific.

This is a heavy, hands-on sales role. You will live inside your assigned Holdco's trading desk and data organization. Working directly with trading and buying teams, and building relationships across investment, curation, and programmatic teams, to personally lead deals end-to-end. You'll work side-by-side with Ad Operations, Product, and our Insights team to translate our audience products into the solutions those buying teams need.

What You'll Do

Carry the curation and audience number

  • Own and exceed an individual quota for curated-deal and audience revenue within your assigned holdco.
  • Source, lead, and close curated deal and segment agreements with your Holdco's trading, curation, and data teams, from first conversation through commercial terms, taxonomy sign-off, and activation.
  • Keep pipeline and forecast accurate in CRM (HubSpot or Salesforce), and know the difference between a deal that is signed and a deal that is actually spending.
  • Report on what is live and what is stuck: deals activated, segments distributed, spend flowing through curated packages, and the specific blocker on anything that has stalled.

Own the trading desk relationship

  • Get Genius curated deal IDs and PMPs into the packages your holdco's central trading and curation unit buys from, and into the agency-level programmatic teams that draw on them.
  • Work fluently in the platforms these teams live in: The Trade Desk, DV360, Amazon DSP, Yahoo DSP, and the major SSP and curation platforms, plus your Holdco's own proprietary planning and activation stack.
  • Negotiate deal structure the way trading teams think about it; floor pricing, fees and take rates, scale and match-rate guarantees, tiering, and reporting SLAs and know when a curated deal is the right vehicle versus a segment license.
  • Solve the unglamorous problems that decide whether a deal scales: deal-ID hygiene, throughput and win rates, discrepancy resolution, and the reasons a curated package underdelivers. This is a large part of the job and the part that most often decides whether a test renews.

Own the data and audience relationship

  • Get Genius segments distributed, priced, and discoverable everywhere your holdco's data teams shop: DSP data marketplaces, LiveRamp, Snowflake and other data-collaboration environments, and identity frameworks including UID2 and RampID.
  • Map Genius audiences into your holdco's proprietary taxonomy and audience framework so a planner finds them where they already look, under names they already use.
  • Partner with your holdco's analytics and data-science teams on clean-room work, modeling, incrementality design, and the measurement standards they use to grade audience performance.
  • Own the answers to the five questions every data buyer asks: scale, match rate, freshness, how the audience was constructed, and proof it drove something.

Make the rest of the pod dangerous

  • Be the technical escalation for your VP and account executives. The person they pull into a call when the questions get specific, and who they can send in alone when they cannot make it.
  • Turn what you learn at the desk and the data team into enablement the pod can use: how our audiences are built, what they cost, what they beat, and which objections have already been answered.
  • Feed deal-level friction back to Product and Data Engineering; new audiences, refresh cadence, scale and match rates, and the gaps that keep costing deals at your holdco.
  • Work with Ad Ops, Insights, and Marketing on case studies, benchmark reporting, and the post-campaign proof that turns a test into a renewed commitment.
  • Share pricing precedent, objection patterns, and winning structures with the Curation & Audience Leads in the other Holdco pods, what one of you proves should shorten the path for the others.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • 4-6 years in programmatic, curation, audience data, or agency trading on the sell side, at an agency desk, or at a platform, with at least some time spent responsible for revenue rather than only for execution.
  • Hands-on fluency in the audience supply chain: deal IDs and curation, DSP and SSP mechanics, data marketplaces and onboarding, identity and match rates, clean rooms, and CPM-versus-data-fee economics. You should be able to diagnose why a deal is not spending without asking anyone.
  • Direct experience working with or inside a major HoldCo (WPP, Publicis, or Omnicom) you know its stack, its taxonomy, and roughly how a new data partner gets approved.
  • Working relationships at a major holdco's trading, curation, or data teams, or a demonstrable ability to build them quickly at that layer.
  • Ability to sell a data product on its merits to buyers who will pressure-test every claim, and to hold your own in a technical conversation with an analytics lead.
  • Comfort making complex things simple: you can explain moment-based audience construction to a trading lead who has 11 other meetings that day, without either oversimplifying or losing them.
  • Operating discipline: accurate forecasting, clean CRM hygiene (HubSpot or Salesforce), and reliable follow-through on the operational detail that makes deals actually spend.

IT WILL BE A BONUS IF YOU:

  • Spent time at an agency trading desk, curation platform, SSP, DSP, data provider, or identity company.
  • Background in sports media, sports data, or fan-engagement products.
  • Familiarity with clean-room and data-collaboration environments (Snowflake, LiveRamp, InfoSum, Amazon Marketing Cloud) and with attention or outcomes-based measurement.
  • Experience as the technical specialist inside a pod or account team, supporting sellers who own the senior relationships.
  • Ad ops or campaign management experience, the instinct for why a campaign underdelivers is hard to teach and valuable here.
