The Role – Software Engineer
We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our Fan Engagement team and take ownership of delivering high-quality software end-to-end. In this role, you’ll design, build, and improve systems while solving moderately complex problems and balancing technical decisions with user impact. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional partners and play an active role in mentoring others and strengthening team practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the design, implementation, testing, and delivery of features or subsystems end-to-end
- Develop and maintain scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems
- Identify and drive improvements to existing codebases, systems, and development practices
- Solve moderately complex technical problems with a thoughtful approach to trade-offs
- Participate in and contribute meaningfully to system design discussions and reviews
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver user-centered solutions
- Mentor and support junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing
- Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement, and communicate them clearly
- Contribute to a culture of quality through testing, documentation, and continuous improvement
Qualifications:
- Experience developing and delivering production-quality software in a professional or comparable environment
- Proficiency in developing professional web apps and familiarity with modern development frameworks
- Experience owning features or components from design through deployment
- Solid understanding of software development fundamentals, system design, and debugging practices
- Ability to work independently on moderately complex problems with limited guidance
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners, contributing to shared outcomes, and incorporating feedback
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ReactJS and NodeJS
- Experience designing and improving systems or services beyond individual features
- Familiarity with performance optimization, scalability, and reliability concepts
- Experience mentoring or supporting the growth of other engineers
- Exposure to working across teams or contributing to shared systems
- Experience with testing strategies, observability, and CI/CD pipelines
What’s in it for you?
The salary for this role is based on an annualized salary range of $185,000 - $210,000 USD. This role will also be eligible to take part in Genius Sports Group's benefits plan.
