About The Position | Major Goals and Objectives and Location Requirements:

People Inc. is seeking an experienced Security Operations Supervisor to serve as a visible, hands-on uniformed leader supporting daily enterprise security operations. Reporting to the Manager, Security Operations, this position works alongside in-house and contracted security personnel across reception, patrol, events, incident response, and workplace security operations.

The Supervisor also works closely with the Manager, GSOC & Intelligence to assist with GSOC personnel and operations, coordinate field response, and maintain effective communication and situational awareness during incidents, special events, and periods of increased activity. The ideal candidate leads by example, remains calm under pressure, and is equally comfortable assisting employees, directing security personnel, and coordinating with executives, vendors, and public safety agencies.

About The Team | The Team and/or Brand:

The Security team at People Inc. is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of employees, facilities, and assets across all office site locations. The team partners closely with contracted security staff, reception, facilities, event teams, and law enforcement agencies to deliver a consistent and resilient security program.

About The Position’s Contributions:

Operational Leadership

  • Provide visible, hands-on operational leadership and work alongside in-house and contracted security personnel during daily operations.

  • Coordinate reception, patrol, event security, contract personnel, and other operational resources during assigned shifts.

  • Ensure post orders, procedures, access-control requirements, and service standards are followed; inspect operations and help correct deficiencies.

Incident and Emergency Response

  • Serve as the senior uniformed operational resource during incidents, emergencies, and critical events until relieved by Security Management.

  • Direct field response, deploy resources, coordinate with the GSOC, and ensure required notifications, incident reports, and after-action documentation are completed.

  • Respond to medical incidents, evacuations, suspicious activity, workplace violence concerns, executive incidents, and other security events; coordinate with law enforcement, fire, EMS, and property management as needed.

GSOC Support and Coordination

  • Work closely with the Manager, GSOC & Intelligence to assist with GSOC personnel and daily operations.

  • Provide operational guidance and support during major incidents, special events, after-hours activity, and periods of elevated demand.

  • Coordinate field operations with GSOC monitoring, communications, incident documentation, enterprise notifications, and situational-awareness functions.

Physical Security and Event Operations

  • Support access control, visitor management, reception, patrol, alarm response, CCTV operations, facility inspections, and other physical security functions.

  • Assist with planning and on-site execution of internal meetings, executive events, corporate venue activities, and major public-facing events.

  • Direct event security staffing and deployment and coordinate with vendors, venue personnel, law enforcement, and emergency responders while maintaining a professional and welcoming environment.

Leadership, Training, and Operational Support

  • Coach and mentor security and GSOC personnel through daily guidance, real-time feedback, onboarding support, drills, and hands-on instruction.

  • Provide Security Management with objective feedback regarding performance, training needs, staffing concerns, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Assist with shift coverage, daily assignments, operational documentation, special projects, audits, and other duties as assigned.

The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:

Education: 

Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, security management, emergency management, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will be considered.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in law enforcement, military service, public safety, corporate security, or a related security environment.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience directing personnel or operations during routine activities, incidents, emergencies, or special events.

  • Ability and willingness to work as a hands-on, uniformed operational leader rather than in a primarily administrative role.

  • Sound judgment and the ability to make timely, defensible decisions under pressure.

  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and customer-service skills, with the ability to interact professionally at all levels of the organization.

  • Working knowledge of access control, CCTV, alarm monitoring, incident reporting, and common security operations practices; proficiency with Microsoft Office and related reporting systems.

  • Ability to remain mobile throughout the workday, conduct patrols and inspections, stand or walk for extended periods, and successfully complete required pre-employment screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior supervisory or field leadership experience in law enforcement, corporate security, military service, emergency management, or another operational environment.

  • Retired law enforcement experience, particularly in a supervisory or field leadership capacity.

  • Experience supporting a GSOC, command center, emergency operations center, or similar security environment.

  • Experience coordinating proprietary and contracted security personnel, reception, events, or executive support.

  • CPP, APP, PSP, PCI, FDNY Certificates of Fitness, First Aid, CPR, AED, or similar relevant certifications.

Pay Range

Hourly: New York: $35.00 - $40.00

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc's total compensation package for employees.
