Position Title: Deposit Operations - Seasonal Associate
Business Unit: Deposit Operations
Reports To: Supervisor of Deposit Operations
Position Overview:
This position is primarily responsible for handling all NSF check return and check adjustment processes, including monitoring NSF decision changes made by branch employees to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This includes oversight of Reg. E, APSN, eStyle, Fresh Start, and representment transactions. The role also involves working closely with the Fraud team on Warranty Breaches. This position is critical for maintaining service levels, meeting processing deadlines, mitigating risk, and adhering to OCC heightened standards while minimizing customer impact.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Processes NSF check returns and check adjustments while ensuring regulatory compliance and accuracy.
- Monitors and corrects NSF decision changes made by branch employees for potential regulatory violations.
- Oversees and audits transactions related to Reg. E, APSN, eStyle, Fresh Start, and representment to ensure proper handling.
- Collaborates with the Fraud team to identify and resolve Warranty Breaches.
- Performs multiple exception processing tasks, including non-posts, stop payments, return items, and charge-off processing.
- Ensures accurate verification and monitoring of exception items to meet daily deadlines and mitigate risk.
- Responds to inquiries related to NSF and exception processing from customers and Bank personnel within established timeframes and policies.
- Uses system maintenance reports to verify the accuracy of edits and updates made to deposit accounts.
- Assists with year-end reporting tasks by entering corrections and maintaining records related to exception items and tax reporting.
- Supports the immediate supervisor with administrative tasks directly related to NSF check returns, check adjustments, and department operations.
- Assists with merger or project-related tasks, including data verification and adjustments, as needed.
- Maintains accountability for risk management by adhering to the Bank’s risk management program in all NSF and exception item processing activities.
The Seasonal Associate will work from May to August. Actual hours worked and employment period will be determined by the needs of the business.
