JOB SUMMARY
The Scheduler II is responsible for developing and maintaining detailed production schedules that ensure alignment between customer demand, manufacturing capacity, material availability, and inventory objectives. This role plays a critical part in coordinating planning activities across Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement, and Customer Service to achieve efficient, cost-effective production flow and on-time delivery performance.
The Scheduler II utilizes analytical tools and ERP systems to manage short- and medium-term production schedules, monitor resource utilization, and adjust plans based on changing priorities. This position supports continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing scheduling accuracy, minimizing downtime, and optimizing material and labor utilization — in line with Plaskolite’s “One Plaskolite” culture of collaboration, integrity, and operational excellence.

ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, maintain, and communicate daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on demand forecasts, capacity constraints, and material availability.
- Coordinate with Production, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Customer Service teams to ensure alignment between manufacturing plans and customer delivery requirements.
- Review and adjust schedules to respond to changing priorities, equipment downtime, material delays, or customer order changes.
- Monitor and analyze production performance against the schedule, identifying variances and working with operations teams to implement corrective actions.
- Ensure production schedules are synchronized with material replenishment and inventory management plans to optimize resource utilization.
- Collaborate with Procurement to confirm raw material availability and with Distribution to coordinate finished goods shipment priorities.
- Maintain schedule accuracy within the ERP system, updating work orders, priorities, and completion statuses as required.
- Analyze capacity and constraint data to identify potential bottlenecks or imbalances, and develop mitigation plans to maintain service levels.
- Support Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes by providing accurate production data, scheduling insights, and performance feedback.
- Review demand forecasts and historical data to balance production workloads and minimize changeovers and downtime.
- Communicate schedule changes, priorities, and key metrics to production supervisors, planners, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to plan for product trials, new product introductions, or process improvements within the production schedule.
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to production planning, efficiency, and lead time reduction.
- Partner with Operations and Maintenance to ensure scheduled preventive maintenance is coordinated effectively without disrupting production goals.
- Track and report key scheduling performance metrics such as schedule adherence, on-time completion, and lead time accuracy.
- Participate in capacity planning studies and recommend strategies to balance workload across lines or facilities.
- Assist in standardizing scheduling processes, tools, and communication protocols across sites to ensure consistency and reliability.
- Identify opportunities to automate and improve scheduling processes within ERP and planning systems.
- Provide analytical support to management by generating reports and data visualizations related to capacity utilization, production performance, and supply chain impact.
- Support contingency planning by preparing alternative schedules or recovery plans for unplanned disruptions.
- Maintain documentation for scheduling procedures, capacity data, and workflow processes to support standardization and audit compliance.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure clear communication of schedule priorities, constraints, and production goals.
- Ensure all scheduling activities comply with company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement aligned with Plaskolite’s “One Plaskolite” philosophy.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably in thermoplastics industry).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of thermoplastic materials and extrusion manufacturing processes is a plus
