Job Description – SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics & SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Developer
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Developer to design, develop, and deliver enterprise analytics and reporting solutions. The role will focus on leveraging S/4HANA Embedded Analytics, ABAP CDS Views, Analytical Queries, and SAP Analytics Cloud to provide real-time operational and management reporting.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with the S/4HANA Virtual Data Model (VDM), CDS-based analytical modeling, SAC dashboards/stories, and integration between SAP S/4HANA and SAC.
Key Responsibilities
SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics
Design and develop ABAP CDS Views for operational and analytical reporting requirements.
Develop CDS-based Basic, Composite, Consumption, Cube, and Analytical Query views following SAP recommended practices.
Work with the SAP S/4HANA Virtual Data Model (VDM) and maximize reuse of SAP standard CDS views before developing custom solutions.
Develop and enhance S/4HANA Embedded Analytics solutions for real-time reporting.
Create CDS annotations for analytics, UI, semantics, associations, authorization, and consumption requirements.
Implement CDS access controls/DCL and ensure analytical solutions comply with appropriate data authorization requirements.
Develop calculated measures, restricted measures, filters, parameters, hierarchies, and other analytical query functionality.
Perform CDS View and analytical query performance analysis and optimization.
AP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
Design and develop SAC Stories, dashboards, analytical applications, and visualizations based on business requirements.
Build SAC solutions using Live Connections and Import/Acquired Data scenarios as appropriate.
Integrate SAC with SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics/CDS Analytical Queries.
Develop dimensions, measures, calculated measures, restricted measures, input controls, filters, hierarchies, and drill-down capabilities.
Optimize SAC stories and dashboards for performance and usability.
Support SAC content transport and deployment across development, quality, and production environments.
Technical Responsibilities
Translate functional and reporting requirements into scalable analytical solutions.
Work closely with S/4HANA functional teams, business stakeholders, data teams, security teams, and solution architects.
Evaluate reporting requirements and recommend the appropriate solution using Embedded Analytics, SAC, or a combination of both.
Perform data validation and reconciliation between S/4HANA transactional data, CDS Views, Analytical Queries, and SAC reports.
Troubleshoot data, authorization, connectivity, and performance issues across the reporting landscape.
Follow development standards, naming conventions, documentation standards, and SAP best practices.
Prepare technical specifications, solution designs, unit-test documentation, and deployment documentation.
Participate in code reviews, testing, defect resolution, cutover, and post-production support.
Required Technical Skills
Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics.
Strong experience developing ABAP CDS Views.
Experience with CDS annotations, associations, parameters, calculated fields, and analytical semantics.
Experience with CDS Cube Views and Analytical Queries.
Good understanding of the S/4HANA Virtual Data Model (VDM).
Experience with SAP standard CDS View discovery and extensibility.
Strong hands-on experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
Experience developing SAC Stories and dashboards.
Experience connecting SAC to SAP S/4HANA.
Good understanding of SAC Live and acquired/import data connectivity approaches.
Good knowledge of S/4HANA data models and business processes.
Strong SQL, data modeling, debugging, and performance-tuning skills.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Approximately 4+ years of SAP experience, with significant hands-on experience in S/4HANA analytics.
At least 3–4 years of hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics and/or SAP Analytics Cloud
Experience delivering end-to-end analytical solutions from requirements gathering through design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Approximately 4 or more years of SAP experience, including significant hands-on S/4HANA analytics experience
- At least 3 to 4 years of hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics and/or SAP Analytics Cloud
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics
- Strong experience developing ABAP CDS Views
- Experience with CDS annotations, associations, parameters, calculated fields, and analytical semantics
- Experience with CDS Cube Views and Analytical Queries
- Good understanding of the S/4HANA Virtual Data Model
- Experience with SAP standard CDS View discovery and extensibility
